One of the funniest parts of the failed WCE trade period has been all the WCE supporters who all of a sudden give a s**t about some random bloke's well-being who is playing for the Geelong Football Club. Spare us the crap about 'ruining a young man's career', if your team didn't stand to gain any benefit in this scenario you wouldn't give it a second thought.

He could have gone to Freo, but didn't. So the family thing really wasn't ringing true.

I guess, looking at it another way, given both WA clubs have overlooked him in 5 previous drafts, even again in the sixth draft when WCE had two picks before the Cats draft pick, but you went with Brander and Allan. So all up, over the 6 drafts that you could have saved this poor family, which totalled 30 odd picks in both the ND and rookie drafts; but you chose not to.

Double those picks to include Freo. So that's 60-65 picks that both WA clubs have 'ruined' this man's career and family life by not picking him up.

My brother and sister in law have two autistic and 2 young kids and they cope just fine even without family input they'd have no problems coping so don't give us this sh!t that the Kelly's struggle because if that was the real case and they were desperate to get home then they wouldn't have ruled out Freo, but of course you cretins can't see that.

That would be Kelly sacking him wouldn't it? The client walking away. You can hardly call Wells professional; sitting at the trade table pretending to do a deal when there was never any intention of doing said deal. I don't see WCE operating like that at trade time. When a player wants to go home, that trade generally gets done.

It has to be a very good contract. west coast gain 1.5 mil in cap space in 2020 with kennedy and nic nat technically veterans under the salary cap. Ithink we were always gonna wait as why pay two round first draft pick for someone we can get for free next year. Geelong wouldnt get compo either as he wouldnt be technically a free agent, just has to go through the draft
