You guys dont have 3 good seasons in a row. You always sh*** the bed atleast 1 in 3 seasons. Players let the perth god complex go to their head and party too hard. It will be next year. Kelly will still dominate though.
What are you talking about? We’ve made finals the past 5 seasons. This isn Woosha era eagles anymore and there’s no Judd leaving/drugs saga to derail us.

2019 eagles would of been premiers if they had tim kelly. Just needed to offer one decent mid first rounder last year.

It was sweet justice that geelong with tim kelly put the nail in their coffin.
You actually have no idea that this would be the case. There is way to many "maybe's" in that statement for any of it to hold water. Sort of like saying i have four Aces so i win, and not having any proof that you are holding four aces. Try again to make sense of your statement. I would go with "If W.C had Tim Kelly in 2019 they MIGHT have won the premiership".

My favourite talking point is that some of them are still mad at Geelong because apparently Geelong did not care about Tim's family. The fact that Geelong traded him to the Eagles didn't seem to satisfy them. I wonder how many families with difficult situations they will be helping? Or is it just because Tim is good at footy......?
If you check out their website you will find they are in Cambodia right now building houses for the underprivileged.

Eagles fans no longer like the pissing contest since they clearly lost it. A number of us spent hours in these kelly forums over the past 2 years. Let the winners gloat.

We’ll see who won the trade when the 2020 season ends ..
WCE appears to have gotten stronger and pulled another contenders best player out of the Cats best 22 with a knockout blow..

2019 for Geelong was a 'dead cat bounce' in stock market terms.

Losing Kelly stregnthen one contender and weakens another.
Geelong failed to fix their ruck problems and have lost one of the best young kids in the game. Jenkins and Steven's will paper over the cracks but you look at the list of over 30's who are best 22 players and the next few years look catastrophic in list management terms at the cater.

You didn't. If you truly cared about Tim's situation, then he would've been at West Coast 12 months ago. And if we only wanted Tim because he was good at footy, then we wouldn't have paid more than what he was worth last year while OOC. We could've dragged this thing out, however, we decided that the stress of it all wasn't worth it for TK.

Just because you reluctantly agreed to trade him when he was out of contract doesn't mean you were doing him a favour, or that somehow absolves you of what you did 12 months ago.
Lol!

And as for the Willie Rioli discussion – This thread has absolutely nothing to do with him or his situation. I'm sure you can find an appropriate thread on the main board.

Allen delisted? He was going to be the 'Dean Gore' of this trade though. 🤣

When Ablett left Geelong they won another flag. When Buddy left Hawks they won more flags. When Danger left Adelaide they improved. If we don't improve from losing Kelly somethings up! The only logical explanation would be the playing list sees Kelly leaving as an excuse to finish bottom 8, and the only reason for that would be Chris Scott

When Ablett and Buddy left their clubs the teams were overflowing with premiership stars many at the peak of their careers. Players in their mid to late 20's with plenty of their best football ahead of them. They also had a decent ruck division.

The number of best 22 players at the Cats right now who are over 30 is a concern. Many of those have played their best football, several will be playing their last season.

That's the difference and that's the logic behind Geelong slipping back to the bottom of the top 8 compared to the Cats and Hawks when they lost Ablett and Buddy.

If they are lucky with injury and can manage those older bodies well a GF in 2020 is not out of the question but look at this season. Selwood and Ablett limped into the finals. Selwood looked like Rocky after 10 rounds the poor bloke was smashed. Dangerfield also takes on a huge work load and looked sore. Harry Taylor will be his last year. Rohan when fit is a good player but tends to pick up niggles / knee injuries most years.

Cockattoo is a big key, one of the few with the skill set of Kelly but he also is extremely injury prone.

As a cats supporter these tim kelly threads have been so rewarding.

Watching eagles fans constantly have to reassess upwards how much they would need to pay for him and then come to terms with it.

Just two weeks ago many eagles supporters thought it would be:

Tim kelly for pick 14 and jack steven (somehow eagles fans thought they would extract all the rent from steven wanting to come to geelong through trading unders with the saints).

But no it was this golden egg:

Geelong out: tim kelly, geelong next years second
Geelong in: 14, 24, josh jenkins, eagles nexts years first, gold coast next years third and ofcourse jack steven.

Wells is usually a sh*t trader but this year it was a thing of beauty. Art in fact.

He screwed over eagles, saints and crows all in one go.
Jenkins and Stevens?? Screwed over!?

Jenkins reportedly signed a $550k per year contract, Steven likely on more than that. I'm assuming Adelaide and St Kilda are just paying those because Wellsy?

If you listen to Wells interview on the last trade day he made it clear we are only paying some of his salary and Connors and Adel made an agreement re the rest (he just didnt say what % that was).
