I was at the games in Adelaide, and as I posted on another thread, Kelly seems to have good pace but be ONE PACED - didn't seem to have a burst, which Fogarty has in spades. I watched him chase someone who was very quick the length of the field and he didn't drop off or gain. As for his left foot, I watched him warm up twice and he was kicking very nice left footers around 30m, but didn't see it in the games. He has real game smarts and will accumulate/link well and lay a lot of tackles in close. Fogarty on the other hand will catch em to tackle em as well. Very different players but both exciting in their own ways. Also Kelly kicked a goal that overall must have travelled 60m, it was very impressive.

Great comments BP
Kelly had more than acceptable pace and an ability to find space in the WAFL as a forward ( which is not a slow comp ;) ) so expect him to adapt pretty quickly to the AFL.
Has a hard side as well , won't shirk at all which will be pleasing :)

Well said. Unfortunately in this era of pace fetishism the two are often confused. See: “Blicavs is slow” claims.

Tim Kelly thread - I know you are responding to a post - but lets keep this TK based.

GO Catters
I'm really looking forward to hopefully seeing him in the JLT where we will get a better idea when it comes to how he reads the play, reacts, his positioning etc :thumbsu:

He looks like he has good evasive skills and vision just looking at the Cats training highlights the other day...

I bet if he has ball in hand, he will rarely get caught, in traffic or in space.

He is not a line-breaker, but his first few steps after changing direction is quite quick.

I'm excited about this lad. I reckon he's gonna be a gun. AFL X or not I like what I saw.

Could win a Brownlow within 5 years or so. Big call, but he's capable

With the squad named should get a good run through the centre square on the weekend.

Just about becomes the #1 clearance player in his first game for the club.
And he’s doing exactly that.

Just needs to learn how to win his own ball and kick better :D

He is probably thinking even the scrubs in the WAFL can take chest marks

That first clearance was a thing of beauty.

Hawkins mark not.
