I think 2 years and then he retires, they are doing up a house in the country that once its completed they are moving up there, so I get the sense its just two last years to end his career.

Yeah retirements are rarely the players doing, only a few go out on their own terms.

If you think about the time it takes for a young key fwd to develop, membrey should easily be able to play up until he is 34 (form and health permitting of course) without having to worry about competition for spots.

I mean membrey has remarkable durability (excluding 2023), so he knows how to look after himself. So if his mind is still up for it and he maintains his body like he has, see no reason as to why collingwood wouldn't want him around. Plus by all accounts, he seems to be a good person to have in the locker room .
