Time for a new captain

I'm too tired sorry.
Of course you are.
To tired to look at one simple post.

Anyway, encouraged by some positive reviews in another site, I'm going to repost an earlier rant that I wrote over there. It includes some Pendles stuff so in topic. You won't understand some references. Bad luck.
Enjoy.
Sorry BH, but Sidey is our only gut running two way guy.
Now, as you say, he gets some cheapies, but don't all elite players because they read the play and position accordingly?
Ask yourself the simple question, would we better without Sidebottom in our side?
You know the answer. Don't be afraid to type it.
C3 is looking to another home. The coach has shown him his future is not at CFC. Much like the coach did with Dawes.
With Buckley, you are in or out. Black or White. And the coach has put the line through our Two time AA player. Our Copekand trophy winner. Our leading goal kicker on many occasions.
The coach, as do many of our supporters, don't understand the 'player killer" role that the game plan (kick it as high as ****ing possible and hope the AA man can out gun two or three opponents) has had on C3.
Yes, I understand the momentum killing misses from 10 metres is a negative. But give the man some support in alternative avenues to goal. Give him some players who can deliver the Sherrin lace out instead of 40 metre bombs, and he may have enough shots on goal to win games.
Pendles? Has never been a game breaker. Never. A great player, a time and motion YouTube master. But not a player to turn a game.
As much as Maxwell was an unskilled soldier, and he was, he could influence games simply by one or two courageous efforts. Leading by example.
Pendles "example" this week was to continually give the ball back to the opposition. CONTINUALLY,
But, I have not heard one criticism of his game from any media outlet. Are they all blind? Or am I just in another stratosphere? I think the former.
This year is ****ed. And despite the Dewd Facebook membership figures, the club still refuse to publish on CFC.com. I smell a rat. And I think end of June will be a reality check on where Ed, and his son, have positioned us in the new AFL.
And I'm not even factoring in the dissatisfied members who refuse to re-sign (I am one) because of our decision to accept drug convicted players on to our list. I'm not alone in my views on this issue.
What a ****ing rant!
Apologies all, but had to get that out of my system.

I would have thought Treloar would be in the frame.
Big time.
when we have played well this year it is when tay is in the team, same last year, the more I see of him
the more I am impressed with his leadership on the field

Hahahahahaha I was joking around on the game day thread that one of these threads would pop up about Pendles not being the right choice for Captain. This board is so predictable.

Oh btw this is about the 5th thread about Pendles this year. Give it a rest.

Damn, beat me to the edit.
Oh well, for someone who was to tired to read a simple post, you certainly have been active since that statement.
I think you sir, are a liar!

You're just playing me now.

- Leads by example (This is what inspires players, not how loud you can yell or how 'tough' you are)
- Respected by players
- Able to direct the team/On field leadership

Pendlebury ticks all those boxes for me.

Adams may very well be captain material, or even Treloar but tell me what that will change?

Pendles is a good leader, maybe he is not vocal enough to be the captain. But he is still no.1 for the job.
Seriously, you don't want a guy inconsistent like Sidey to be the captain, what players may think when your captain disappeared?
If we want a new, it has to be Taylor Adams at the moment

You spelled Carlton wrong in you username.

Well he ipad has expired.
So it's the iphone or the desktop.
Hate using a phone, and the desktop has an issue....

So goodnight all

Good night sweet prince..

It's our biggest problem, bigger than Bucks, Eddie and injuries. We have the worst leadership group in the league...

Pendles is good, not great. Looking in Adams is a gun leader, very vocal and players stand taller around him. Other than that there is nothing, and at the end of the day the list management team/coaches need to take the blame...

We need to do two things heading into 2017, firstly promote Moore into the group and secondly recruit a leader from another club. Someone who is best 22 (lol @ Caff) who can help the transition. I honestly have no idea who, but we are in desperate need.

We have a young team. There will be plenty of leaders coming through in the next few years.

I reckon Treloar looks like a leader as well

With no natural leaders around them, who are they going to learn from? All the young players are coming to the a club with a losing culture and no leadership direction.

We can sit and wait for them to magically develop or do something about it...

Bontempelli led the Dogs yesterday, put Darcy Moore in that club (and add a year) and he could've done the same thing. Roles reversed and I'm not so sure...

I would say Moore is developing very nicely. I think you are making too much of it and that it is the younger players who are actually carrying the direction of the club.

It's a joke Caff is in the group, when he's barely in the team and just about done. Where's all this talk about Moore coming from? what has he done to earn such praise to be the next captain

Might be something about the way he plays and carries himself around the club. If you don't think he is leadership material then you are a very poor judge indeed.
