Kouta just needs to step down, simple. Who cares if he back Steve-o for the captaincy? He is not a Carlton player, so he is in the same position as any other Carlton supporter. This just in, I have backed Eddie Betts for captaincy. Publish that.

I wish I was a premiership captain of the club

Ok, to his credit, he did play in the premiership team, he did captain us, but he isn't a Carlton player anymore. He is the equivelant of any other supporter.

Condition is a huge part of leadership.
Presenting oneself in peak physical condition is a very important part of leadership. You cannot ask those who follow you to do what you dont do.
It also shows the example of discipline and commitment to the team.

You telling me that Judd left the Eagles while captain dosnt help your case.
You keep saying that Judd has not proved himself at Carlton to be named leader but what has Stevens done?
It is well documented that he was drinking and partying to much up until last season. Thats a poor example to set.

Judd has nothing to prove to anybody at Carlton, except it seems a few misguided supporters.
He has earnt this respect for the way he has carried himself through his whole career.

Kernahan was made captain after less than 30 AFL games.
Judd has proven himself a true prfessional over a much longer period, and has had leadership experience.

I'm not saying Judd should get the job.
The best leader should irrespective of how many games he has played for Carlton.

Ok mate, not going to go into it further cause you simply ignore anything which doesn't help your point. I've got no problem with you hoping a guy who has "nothing to prove to anybody at Carlton" is given our captaincy.

I on the other hand will prefer a guy who has at least played a game for us, but thats just my silly "misguided" way of looking at things

What's the difference between judd walking out on the eagles to come home to melbourne and Stevens walking out on Port to come home to melbourne?

I knew someone would raise this, like i said I prefer Stevo, but i also prefer other guys before Judd. However to answer your question, we are talking about a Captaincy role, Judd walked out when he was Captain, Stevo didn't, that is the difference. He obviously didnt respect the position at WC, what makes you think it will be any difference with us?

Judd has said he would captain if the players want him to captain.
He wont do it otherwise.

So why doesnt the guy who never said "boo" while he captained this club interfere to sway the players towards Stevens??

But the players will vote Judd...
All of them are in awe.. and Fevs in his corner too

Yet again, thanks for the 'insider knowledge' :thumbsu:

ANY suggestion Carlton's boom recruit Chris Judd was a walk-up start for the club's captaincy has been scuttled, with coach Brett Ratten delaying a decision until the start of next season.

Ratten wants to install a leadership group and rotate the captaincy during the pre-season among those players, then make a permanent decision on who will lead the Blues.

Judd is a standout candidate to take over from the sacked Lance Whitnall, having captained previous club West Coast until his off-season move to Carlton.

But there are several other options, headed by midfielder Nick Stevens.

"We'll put together a leadership group of roughly six to seven players, they'll put their hand up and when we get closer to the season we'll pick a captain," Ratten said.
