We were poor last night (yes) and have been for a while now but I still do believe there are many positives to look forward to;-

  • Watson, Ryder, Fletch, Hurley - all great players that any other team would kill for
  • Heppell, Crameri, Dempsey, Zaka & Carlisle - all have the potential to be great players and Im sure we will see good things from these guys in 2013
  • We have a club legend as our coach and one of the best ever coaches as his assistant - remember Geelong went through a lean patch before they became a dominant force. Hird and Thompson are clever guys who know what they are doing - I am certainly not giving up on them yet
  • We played great footy at the start of the year and showed what we are capable of
  • We just need a but more support for Jobe in the mid field and have players coming through who may be able to provide this - if not we can trade for some
  • We have Joe Daniher coming who could be anything!
All is not lost, a great new training facility in 2013, a bit of a clean out of the dead wood and the Bombers will bounce back in 2013 :)

Heppell was our leading contested possession winner, not the be all and all but it showed some ability that he can play on ball.
Just needs to learn how to use it better in close.
Teams have identified that Heppell was struggling with close and tough attention, i think TRB have done him the world of good allowing this to happen as hes coming out the other side a much better contested ball winner, next year he will go up another gear, very happy with his development in 2012.

I thought Heppel looked quicker tonight. Was as happy with his game as I possibly could be in a loss that bad. Looking forward to seeing how he, NoB and Browne do next year.

10. Our own reserves side should ensure that from 2013 onwards our whole list is playing the way Hird and Co want rather than having a large influence from a 3rd party.

Question - what state will the new facilities be in by preseason? I've heard them mention the MCG sized training ground but what about the gym etc? If we can use the lot, make that point 11.

We will not be moving into the new facilities this preseason. I can't remember where but I read somewhere it will be ready by June 2013. Can anyone verify this?

On the hangar, David Evans said the mcg size ground should be ready for pre-season. The rest of it not sure.

The bloke is a gun, we just have to work out where we want to play him, I just have a fear that he will be our Goddard, shifted to wherever there needs to be a hole filled each week. In time, he is an elite inside/outside midfielder in the waiting.

The chance is there to be a permanent mid if he wants it. Same goes with melksham.
