So the Victorian teams are all off to the hubs. Great.

Whats meant to happen after the first 4-6 weeks? After the first outbreak the competition was stopped for 11 weeks nation wide. Victorias 2nd wave is already higher than the first. So realistically no football there until the end of the regular season.

No chance the Victorian players will want to spend 12 weeks away.

who knows, thats why the afl are doing 4-6 week blocks. 4-6 weeks ago victoria was no worse than nsw and qld. for all we know the other states will have similar second waves, and victoria is just ahead of them, and when that happens maybe victoria becomes 'the safe place'.

despite all the bitching about how the season couldnt be run without the entire thing being pre-planned, the afls method of planning in 5 week blocks prooved to be the right call and has allowed what we are doing now. no reason not to do the same this time and see how things are going in a months time.

Anyone got Hitler Cotchin's mailing address?

He could do with another hair brush. Doing FA else in his 6 week holiday at home.
Such unfortunate luck for tha cotch today with his injury.
he must be devastated!!!

Just Hope he makes a speedy recovery ready for the “greatest sacrifice a group of young men have ever had to undertake since the Vietnam war” when his supremely brave tiger teammates venture north to dangerous and perilous jungles of Queensland!
Trent Cotchins injury should be investigated by the AFL. When he is found to be a liar, he should be deregistered as a footballer
Cotchins going to the hub.
How embarrassing for some of these posters.

Cynical me thinks the AFL know deep down the season has a reasonable chance of being canned and are just trying to recoup as much $$ as they can before it happens. I cant see this second wave being contained in six weeks and I also cant see players being interstate for more than a six week block. We might get mass forfeits which will lead to the season stopping.

As has always been, there's a huge chance we dont have a full season even playing each other once. The season hangs by a thread week to week. Impossible to know what things look like in 6 weeks time.

No ones embarrassed, he acted the flog, got called out in the media, now he's pulled his head in and is going.

West coast supporters the experts on acting like flogs

Do west coast forget the original issue was players didnt want to spend the entire season in a hub away from their families.

They acted all high and mighty going to qld then a week later started crying "how long do you expect us to stay here"

Just like those who trolled saying he wouldn't be going to the hub. They just got called out. Time for them to pull there heads in and admit they acted like flogs

It was more the fact that WA and SA teams were hubbing when both states had zero cases. Compare that to victoria.. they basically needed the second wave to hit before scrambling and booting all the teams out of the state.

Yeah are you forgetting the hard border shutdown that made it functionally impossible to get teams in as soon as your boy relaxed that restriction they started working on a wa hub.

No, the VFL didn't want to disrupt the 17 home games the Tigers get a year. Wouldnt want to disadvantage any Victorian clubs.

If the Vic's forfeit just have a finals series with the other 8 sides imo.

Going to be tough for the players as it will create a lot of uncertainty for them regarding the season, when they can return home to see family next etc

Tips the premiership ( if we get that far !!! ) race on it's head.

Bottom teams could rise, top teams might go glug, glug. Who knows.

Family v Footy, a lot of players minds might not be on the footy at game time.

Only 12 matches left in the season. Probably possible to compress those games into 9-10 weeks if needed.

Gotta to be pretty soft if you can't "tough it out" for another 12 matches away from home. They won't have to travel again for another 4-5 months once they arrive home. Haven't had to travel anywhere since March. 3 months out of the year is a small price to pay. Don't like it get a real job. Get up at 6am and get home at 6pm each day.

the entire season away in a hub was never on the cards. even the first iteration of the plan involved breaking it up into multiple blocks.
