I meant that the thread is unfair because it fails to acknowledge Dawes' contribution. His efforts were outstanding, as far as the 1%ers go.

Bottom line: My opinion is that dropping him would be absurd in the grand scheme of things. You obviously believe otherwise, it's all good.

Lets hope he proves you wrong next game. :)

Who are you bringing in to replace him?

I'd back Dawes to find form in the prelim before the Caf, who, by the way, plays a completely different roll. There's no one to come in for Dawes unless you want to bring in Wood & have Leeroy playing up forward - but I don't think that's a better solution in any shape or form.

Look, we have options, we can play Wood and play Jolly as a KF if we had to, now maxy's back we could send either of Taz or Reid fwd, but, if Macaffa is cherry ripe i would select him, he can play as a KF and he'll provide a lot more fwd pressure, i honestly don't care who they pick, but Dawes can't play again this year, as i've said many times in this thread, he is hurting us, not just with his shit form, but his constant whinging, put him on ice for 2012.

If they select him i hope he does too obviously, i just feel we can't **** around anymore, we'll need to be better than today if we're going to go B2B.

Which means what?, i'm talking to BF lap boys here who im sure ask the players to sign their footy cards, some may even go to training and think they have more of an idea than someone else because of it lol, Dawes will be very, very lucky to hold his spot, if you think otherwise then you think otherwise, no problem.

It has nothing to do with people being 'lap dogs', it's about people understanding how Dawes fits into the structure of the team. He plays his role, and plays his role extremely well. How can you not understand this? He draws the number 1 or 2 defender every week, taking the pressure off of Cloke by making opposite leads allowing for Cloke to go into space. He SMASHES packs open and constantly offers contest and pressure.

He is doing great, you just don't understand that he is a cog in a well functioning machine.

I simply started a thread about my opinion, if you knew me at all you would know when i bag our players i have good reason in doing so, 3 games is enough IMO, if you don't show anything then it's time to move on, as for the bet, our selectors played Fraser over and over and over and over again, takes a while to sink in with those blokes, as i said, it's only my opinion, most disagree, big deal, no need for the abuse or smartass comments. ;)

I think what's pissing people off is that you aren't even entertaining anyone elses opinions, and just appear to be trolling and abusing people.
 
A few things;

Dawes was extremely manhandled tonight and got shafted by the umpires, like a few of our other players.

His capability of playing our role of our structure and knowledge of it is second to none, heck he's the only one that can actually PLAY that role.

Thirdly, there is absolutely no one else who can play that role. Tarrant didn't work, Leigh Brown could but his capability as a full time forward is past him and Reid just is not a forward no longer.

And on todays efforts, I don't think there was anyone else who didn't try harder. You obviously missed him throwing himself in the ground contests trying to create pressure wherever the ball was. You obviously missed countless times of him chasing down a midfielder when the possibility of him catching him was almost nil.

If your going to criticise Dawes then criticise Cloke. He didn't have a particularly spectacular game either.

You offer your opinion, yet can't suggest an alternative? It won't happen anyway, but if you feel so strongly about it surely you would be able to come up with some hypothetical scenario in an attempt to convince the other people on here that what you're saying has some merit. All I've got from this thread is... 'Dawes sucks, drop him for anyone else'. Don't complain about people not taking you seriously when you can't even offer a serious scenario. Oh, except for that we should pick up Fev.

Oh dear, can you please read the thread before commenting, i have stated on several occassions i'd prefer a fit Macaffa, Tarrant, Reid, ANYONE ATM.

Why?

Dawes today had our second worst DE% and most of his 11 possessions were handballs, he took 0 contested marks, 2 marks overall, 1 goal, ripping stats for a KF, i take it all back, and, those stats are a step up from his previous 2 weeks, what ever guys, cant drop him, he is irreplacable.

Fasolo had more impact with his 3 minutes FFS.
