What has happened yesterday, was there a media consensus that its was time to give Geelong a bit of focus.

HealdSun has Ayres saying Bomber has bombed and has underperformed.
The Age has an article on a Board situation and Walls has given to Bomber about being too "Cool".The Addy has an article quoting Budda how the Eagles should grab their chance to win a flag by being selfless, which of course GFC wasnt in his day and Mithen, who is tied up with Richmond reckens Geelong players have big heads, should read the Addy or listen to KRock.

and the media wonder why the media is treated contempt.

Wouldnt worry to much every team has a turn at some stage during the year. This week its ours, and we probably deserve it a little after Satudays effort. Dont worry newt week it will be someone elses turn.

Bit rich of Ayres to have a shot at Thompson for poor body language; it was a hallmark of Ayres' time at the club that when things weren't going well, he'd exhibit some pretty poor body language.
All this from a bloke that had the opportunity to really develop the club into his own unit after taking over from Blight, and ended up drafting players like Brett Spinks and leaving Bomber to clean up the mess.
Bomber isn't the best coach going around, but the way he's built the list without doing a St Kilda and sinking to the depths indicates that he's also far from the worst.
Sour grapes from Ayres maybe? Shouldn't he be over it all now, or is it just that Bomber's got a job and Ayres hasn't?

Well said!

Ayres is a moron. He always has that stupid look on his face because he is chowing down on one of the biggest meal of sour grapes you will ever see.

The bloke is a loser!

what the f..k Gary Ayres, this coming from a bloke who left our club in a mess and ended the careers of the greatest player by playing him in the 2's, as some have stated Bomber might not be the best coach in the league but i feel he has done a great job rebuilding a list without bottoming out, i guess if we stay injury free next year and are unable to reach the top 4 his time will be up but still he has done a ggod job i beleive, maybe he can be tad slow with making moves but it seems he backs his players in, pity they don't respond as a few of our players aren't playing with the correct desire.

Robert Walls is another moron, only won a flag at carltonb as he was handed half of Sth Australia, he loves sticking the boots in but i didn't hear him 8 weeks ago have a go at us.

these media people just change there minds every monday.

In good news Walls came out and pasted Pavlich at the start of the year and Pav proceeded to play one of his best games. We can only hope :D

Gary Ayres should keep his mouth shut and thank his lucky stars the media never really jumped on him for the disgraceful state he left both Geelong and Adelaide.

He may have been a champion player but he was a shocking coach.

A club would have to be incredibly, incredibly stupid to hire him as their coach in the future.

I'll take Mark Thompson over him any day.

Agree with all of that.
Ayres took a very good team like Geelong and proceeded to ruin it (and a couple of careers) and then did the same to the Crows and now probably wonders why no other club will employ him.

Not completely convinced that Bomber is the bloke to coach us to a premiership but I think the situation we find ourselves in is not his fault either.

I am tired of hearing that Geelong deserves to be put down for their performances. I watched the game on Saturday and yes we have played better. But we need to remember who we were up against. Second year players such as Byrnes, Tenace and Blake were playing on guys like White, Rigoni and Brown, while Rooke clearly lacked experiance on Robertson, and Playfair and Ablett still look like they have alot of learning to do...which they have. Sames to be said about Koulouriotis. While someone like Corey did have a dog of a day, you need to expect it sometimes...they are only human. And stuff Ayres, twice he has taken over from Blight and twice left clubs in shambles. He has no idea.
