There's no such thing as Time travel....Time is a human measurement of change & motion....It is not an independent Ontological element.

All there ever is, is the eternal present.

Time-travel as a concept is due to the 4 dimensional aspect of the human imagination.....Of past, presence & future tenses, combined with the element of locomotion.

In reality it is simply not possible.

Theoretically speaking it is, just move faster than light.

There's another bullshize theory I have no truck with....It's all good stuff for the science-fiction genre though.....Nothing wrong with an active imagination.
Youre right, no arguments from me, it was theorised by Einstien so to me it's bullshit.

Check our Morey Haber hoax. Apparently him and his brothers were behind john titor.

John Titor has been one of the most intriguing stories. Does anyone know anymore?

All i can recommend is, the book called "Conviction of a Time Traveler", which is a detailed account of what happened, very detailed and makes an interesting read as to why it might have been real. Even though in the back of your mind, you know it's likely not. This book is really compelling.

It's the closest thing i've ever seen to there being a time traveller, if that makes it worthwhile or not to people, that's up to them. I think it does make it worthwhile reading if nothing else.

Spent the last few hours reading this thread in its entirety after randomly coming across this section. I love this sort of stuff, very interesting and fun to think about even though a lot of it is quite hard to get my head around. Would love to be able to travel ahead into the near or distant future just to see what we had worked out or discovered (about this stuff and a million other topics). Anyway enjoyable read, thanks guys!

The concept of time is a man-made construct....It is merely a human measurement of motion....All there ever is, is the eternal present.

Therefore....The idea of time travel is itself a nonsense; It's a simple category error.

Yep, what I've always thought too.

Your thoughts on the concept/theory/understanding by physicists of "Spacetime"?

Don't know that 'time' is the most accurate concept to denote the nature of the behaviour of matter in the instance he's citing there.....Regardless, it's yet another example of a man-made measurement projected onto an observed phenomenon.....That space bends around objects relative to their shape & that other objects merely fall into the vacuum left by them.....Space-time doesn't really explain the phenomenon accurately enough.....Space affect is probably more accurate.

Anyone seen the movie 'Primer'? It's very low budget and has some odd design choices - but all in all a pretty fun time-travelling movie. Definitely recommend it for those who enjoy time-travel/multiple reality type movies.

Not my favourite of the genre. But had some fun.

Yep, saw it when it first released.

Nothing will ever top the Time Machine movie, starring Rod Taylor from 1960.....A brilliant feat of imagination for which the nerds in The Big Bang Theory even paid tribute to.....Though I still have time for the swirling kaleidoscopic vortex from the Twilight Zone, which Austin Powers took the piss out of.....That was fun also.

Agree. That was a mind-**** (Rod Taylor). And so wondrous. Most modern time-travel movies are too fixated on being deliberately confusing, like Primer, the multi-verse, crossing timelines/people. But lack the adventure and singularity like the original Time Machine movie.
