Why though? Why is it always on the male to make the first move?

A lot of females get multiple matches so they probably don't feel like they need to make the first move.

I go back to my initial issue, then why swipe right?
It's a way of culling the new matches into a smaller group of men that have shown that they are interested beyond a half-second look at one photo on the profile.

A swipe right is a pre-pre approval. It's not a contract of sale.

I’m a girl and I’m one who probably won’t text first but if I see something interesting in their profile I’ll start off with that to like kinda instantly get the convo started

Why do guys always have to pay on the first date?
Why can't girls just say they are on tinder for some good dicking?

I'll never know

From what I have seen, a chat is still not contract of sale
If I got laid everytime a girl talked to me I'd have not much more sex unless I go full Tasmanian

Chicago Bulls What GIF by NBA

I am beginning to think it’s for the best in a societal sense if you just get off the apps altogether

Look when you've been single as long as I have you develop a dark warped sense of humour and master the act of self depreciation

Because getting matches probably gives most people a boost of some sought.

Also if they have their instagram on their profile they are most likely just using tinder to get followers.
Each match makes you more desirable to Tinder algorithm, the more matches the better you must be so to the top of the pile you go

It actually pushes new people to the front, and old users to the back.
I remember when i was on the apps i'd float up to melbourne, get no likes or matches. Then literally delete my account, make a new one exactly the same, and the likes would flood in.
Essentially i think it wants you to get as many likes as you can so you buy the premium to see who they are or get the matches you want

It pushes you to the front for a certain period of time, apparently it has a decay system so you get that initial of my god look at the matches, then oh no matches must buy boosts, super likes premium etc

The more popular/better looking you are they also want you at the front because you know we don't want the uggos with no matches being shown up the front

From the article
You rose in the ranks based on how many people swiped right on (“liked”) you, but that was weighted based on who the swiper was. The more right swipes that person had, the more their right swipe on you meant for your score

It's changed to add some other factors but in simple turns you are ****ed if you don't get lots of swipes

I don't know how some of you guys do it? I've been called good looking all my life. I'm no Brad Pitt but good looking enough to do modelling and ads in my twenties, and I probably look better now at 33. But I get no matches or likes on any of these apps. Have had the girl mates in my life confirm that my profile is good.

I'm not picky either, I'm not just swiping on girls out of my league. Has online dating completely killed the dating market? It's competely ****ed with my self esteem. I'm talking 0 likes and matches, not even a few.
