So people don't want to do what their parents did, so they do reverse. The next gen does it reverse and end up like their grandparents...?
My theory exactly. Not only on Relationships but most things. They tend to skip a generation. People want to differentiate from their parents/see the mistakes they made but inadvertently go back a generation.

Happened Boomers- Roaring 20s (skipping the Depression era)
1890s- Depression (skipped roaring 20s)
Gen Y/Millenials (Skipped Boomers and went stability of Grandparents post WW2 or 1950s early 60s pre hippie) aftermouth

It is uncanny.

I reckon there is a generational disconnect in general.

My grandparents had it tough living through the depression and WWII. My parents generation really didn't - but they have the attitude of their parents' experience ingrained in them. My generation has the entitlement mentality from our parents never really having it tough which reflected in our childhood. Now we are adults and the whole 'great Australian dream/land of opportunity/insert cliche here' thing is done. Pay $40k (with interest) to go to uni to struggle to get a job that pays $50k then pay 10 times your salary to live 40km from the city. Yep, that's exactly how you had it 'in your day', Roger.

TLDR; boomers are full of shit. Be interesting to see how the next generation turn out.
Talk entitled talk boomers. You're not in your 30s by any chance?

I sort of reckon we've skipped a bit. We're between the uppity Gen Xs and the Millenials (Self entitled brats vs Oh shit what will become of them depending on who is crapping on). My generation (30-37) are sort of divided between the haves (got lucky pre crash, became famous) vs (Were the very first hit by the bust, current unemployment epidemic/Housing Bubble but no one knew what was happening).

Yep, 32.

I know a couple of people pushing 40 now who walked into good jobs, bought houses for $1-200k and are now sitting pretty and boy do they think their shit doesn't stink.

I think out of all my swipes, I'm only legit interested in about 10% of them (100). Of that 10%, only 10% are interested enough in me back to date/come over. (10) Of that 10%, maybe 50% will then be DTF (5). This leaves 5 slams per 1000 matches which I reckon is about right!!

What are your ratios like?

Did a bit of an experiment, paid for a month of tinder plus (unlimited swipes and one 30 min boost) during the 30 min boost I just did mass right swiping. Got around 300 matches  some gems in there too.
