Oldest pics I've seen are 7-8 years old.

I don't think I've changed that much since 2014 but I wouldn't be making a profile that is supposed to be me without at least a couple of photos from the last year.

I know a girl whose Instagram profile pic is from 2011. OK love you looked good in a bikini that day but probably time to update.

Actually saw a photo of me from 8 years ago. Christ I looked young. Slightly younger than at the time. Now I look my age. Have aged a bit. My photo is one I took last week + a holiday shot and some from this summer.
Will take my age off and see how that goes.

It’s an eccentric mix I’ll say that much. Drinking for the sake of drinking and then posting on this page seem to go hand in hand. Also what better way to get an in with a woman than by spending a day being her personal unpaid handyman. It’s like the Chrisco Facebook page but for singles.

In the Bendigo/Ballarat/Geelong group a couple of days ago an attractive mid-30s chick put up a pic of her holding a big cookie with "I ANAL" and backed it up in the comments... I don't think I was in her target audience but it did flush out a couple of the less restrained blokes.

Had lunch today with someone else I met on that group and have PMd for a few days. We'll see where that goes.

Side note a current hook up is going on a 400 person (200 male, 200 female) boat cruise this week as she knows the organiser and is going along to help bolster the female numbers, and to wingman a male friend of hers. As a single guy I can’t decide if a 400 person boat cruise is a brilliant idea or a terrible idea, as it plays to my strengths of having 200 potential partners to meet and being a charismatic person, and my general weakness of struggling in social situations where it’s a large group of people to mingle with intermittently and not having a ‘base’ to anchor myself to.

I have been to a couple of small (10-15) dinners organised by other groups and have (much to my surprise) enjoyed myself and met some really interesting and nice people. More of a social thing than potentially hooking up.

Nope it’s this one. Definitely agree it’s more social than a hookup type event.

You don't really notice subtle changes year to year but for someone who has never met you it can be noticeable.

I'm one of the younger looking of my friends that I've known since school/uni, but I'm under no illusions that I still look 25.

I think you need to find an instant connection with the person to get over the first hurdle, wether it's that you are both looking for the same thing or a hobby or topic you are both interested in so the ball can get quickly rolling from there.

I usually will send a message the next day and if I don't get a response that day then I take the hint.

Part of it is luck IMO. Women get a lot of messages and the amount of potential suitors that she is messaging at any one time can be the difference between her replying to you enthusiastically or not. If she's got a date or a few potential ones lined up, she might not be overly keen to add another one.

Keep the conversations engaging from the first message and don't let it drag out. Personally, I'd like to either get their number, propose a date idea, or both within 48 hours of messaging them. Once you've got their number, keep it engaging... and naturally over time I've found that the conversation starts to become more fluid if the connection is there.

Personally couldnt think of many things worse than being trapped on a boat with a bunch of people i dont know.

Only social event i can think of where you cant bail if its horrible.

Someone on fb raised the subject of a singles cruise (on a cruise liner, not hanging out the window driving slowly down the Esplanade).

I couldn't think of anything more horrible tbh. Ten days stuck on board watching hundreds of scrotes getting pissed and rooting their way through the passenger list. Nah yeah nah.

From the limited success + more strikeouts
-Organise a meet early. Endless chat leads nowhere
-If tinder chuck in a flirt/breezy compliment early so you don't get suckered with generic chit chat. Save for hinge
I'm going to say after 3 dates things should have led somewhere if the relationship is going to head that way. Otherwise friend zoned.
