It is just another method. Internet dating was a joke years ago, 'oh, met him/her on the internet did you' was akin to sleeping with your sister. Now it is totally accepted. These apps/sites etc are good for people who are time poor as well. Is not all about 'shagging', although that is certainly one of the benefits. It is 2014, not 1980. You don't have to hang/lurk around bars and clubs now to meet people.

Who gives a sh*&? Up to you and your fiance to set the terms of your relationship and live how you please. Allow other outside opinions to dictate to you and it will infect your (plural) relationship with your fiance like a virus.

Over priced watered down drinks, people (women) not open to been reasonably approached for a conversation, sh*( ratios, people who are shy.

Internet comes not without its major problems thou. Just another option really.

Also met my girlfriend off tinder. It's really just another form of internet dating. There are going to be many people using it who are just after a shag, but there are plenty of people who would use it as a legitimate form of dating.
 
All of this for some average looking girls and girls too good looking to go for you and an endless scroll of lonely faces seeking validation and companionship.

Hell worth it

Because I am a hipster (Bigfooty told me) I refuse to upgrade my iPhone unless it's another old one – it's vintage. I went to re-download it the other day and couldn't believe they'd deserted us!

Tinder used to be good but it went pretty rapidly downhill because there's just so many people. It genuinely gets me down a bit too, seeing all these people just looking for the same thing: either something one-off or something serious, it's this real loneliness that hits me. It is cool though that society accepts Tinder as an acceptable app to have open, whether that says something about vanity (which isn't even a dirty word in all bluntness – looks are so important) or whatever it's still cool that society's moved on. I mean I could imagine telling your mates or parents about a girl from the Internet would've been weird back in the day. Glad it's normalised.
 
The concept is pretty clever.

You like someone, you swipe yes. You don't, you swipe no. They do the same and if you both swipe yes you can contact one another. No mutual 'liking', no contact. Simples. Let's be honest, if you were out at a bar looking for a girl your first instinct would be to find one you consider attractive, so they've just 'made an app for that' really.

All the ads for RSVP, eharmony etc. on TV make them sound a hell of a lot worse. You could find your dream 'match' then contact them to find that one or both parties immediate reaction is '2/10 would not bang', or be bombarded with contact from people you don't want contacting you etc. Pass.

to be fair it's not just girls. some people on social media have a massively inflated ego and do and show off things that they would never even dream of in real life because hey.... what do you think i'm going "to pout my bright red lips or pull up my shirt and point to my ads" to a real life set of eyes. **** they might ridicule my vainness and stupidity.

I agree RE: social media giving dickheads a medium everyone else wishes they didn't have, but I think the anonymity and swiftness of Tinder rejection would be quite refreshing.

If you asked a girl out you just met then if she didn't rate you then chances are you'd get 'oh I I'd love to but I'm just really busy and I have this thing' or some other such bullshit instead of just 'no thanks, you're only ugly mofo Mr Passenger'.

If you want to look at a couple of someone's facebook pictures and decide you never want to see or talk to them then go for it, but girls that genuinely look like Miranda Kerr or whoever your taste is (perhaps Michelle Jenneke) are unlikely to be looking for Joe Average in the suburbs based on a couple of pics.

So damn true. I've seen some of my very average-looking friends use it thinking they're Brad Pitt and swipe left on 90% of the girls and only right on absolute stunners. Not surprisingly they never match those ones either
