Geez this app is giving me the shits lately.

Currently residing in Leeds in the UK. It is a massive student town so Tinder is a must obviously. I've had 1 real date out of it which of course turned into a shag, I mean isn't that what the app is for? A hookup app?

Nah, 99% of the chicks I talk to on Tinder often say to me "it's nice to talk to a non sleazy guy for once, all my matches just want to hook up"

Umm, excuse me love, I swiped right, told you that you are good looking, told you I'm an Aussie exchange student going home in the near future, wtf do you mean I don't want to hook up with you.

Exhibit A: Talk to this one bird, we exchange numbers, add on facey etc. I realise she has a bf, I say "oh you have a boyfriend?"
"yeah :) 6 months now"
"so why are you on Tinder?"
"I think it's a good way to meet new people"

Exhibit B: Wake up with a stunner of a match in the morning, get chatting, she tells me shes fresh out of a relationship, I tell her I leave to go back to Aus this week. We meet up for a coffee and I walk back to her joint in hope that she invites me in but of course - no. She then says its her last day of Uni that day so she goes back to London tomorrow. So I'm like "well this has been a short-lived little friendship", and she says "Oh I'm coming out tonight you should definitely come meet me!". Perfect, I scrambled a few people to go out with, shes messaging me asking if I'm coming out, I reply and tell her when/where etc, she just never replied after that. She was a solid 8 too so I was ****ing gutted.

Exhibit C: Literally been talking to this 7.5 for about a month and a half. There was a big event on Friday we realised we were both going to a few weeks back. I asked her if she was still going and she said yeah definitely we will have to meet up for a drink and a boogie. I message her in the arvo and say: just thinking I should probably grab your number in case we feel like meeting 3-dimensionally. She just says "pretty highly unlikely I'll be answering my phone, sorry".

For **** sake girls annoy me.

Met my boyfriend on this app. We chatted for about 3 minutes, and met up a few weeks later for a casual drink. 10 months later and we are still going strong and incredibly happy.

Yep. We realised we went to rival universities, had a bit of banter and then we exchanged numbers and texted sporadically for the next few weeks (every few days/week or so). Neither of us were desperately clingy or wanting of anything, so it's funny how it has turned out.

Fair enough. It came across a bit like 3 minutes of chatting was it which did not compute.

Even if you look like George Clooney I wouldn't recommend talking to a girl for 3 minutes then suggesting a meet-up. That's very rapey.:D

Well, I probably only spoke with my other tinder dates for about 10 mins online before suggesting we meet for drinks given I hate texting. It was always in public locations, and unbelievably I never came close with sleeping with any of them. The most dates I went on with one was four, and the furthest was hooking up. It's incredible in hindsight!
