I've always thought Greeks weren't so bad when it comes to conservative views, and Turks (well, my family) are quite modern in contrast to our Arab brethren. Hell I'd even go as far to say, most views held in modern Turkey and Greece are as advanced as they are in Australia.

On the flip side, look at Africans or Maori's which are very masculine races. Then men are generally deemed more attractive than the women

As someone with a low level of body hair I've only heard good things about this. That being said I can see why girls would dig a manly beard.

It does, but the government in power is very conservative and has been in power for some time. Which is why protesters get smacked down every time they try and oppose something like censorship, police abuses etc. There are still plenty of progressive Turks out there though.

My mates got massive yellow fever. He even planned a trip recently to go to a few countries like Vietnam to attempt to get as much as he could. Except he met a girl before he left and ended up getting into a relationship with her just before leaving and it ruined his trip haha. She's Asian though so at least he has that comfort.
