Seems extreme to me, but then I guess there’s some pretty unhinges types out there.

I know there are some real freaks out there. For that reason alone I've cut back from 6 numbers to just 3 but that's just me.

I figure just a photo that vaguely looks like it could be you (in a good light) is good enough. Once a date is organised let the charm work its magic.

Terrific example of the kind of incel culture that has developed alongside Tinder.

That is 100% ****ed. But I agree with others that adding your instagram or snapchat details is completely stupid.

I'll probably be accused of victim blaming but I don't get why girls put their Instagram accounts on their Tinder profiles. It's basically asking for people to go onto said accounts and like, comment, DM etc.

Spot on... And surely at some point people have to take responsibility for their own actions, some random you don't know messages you like that.. Block him and and don't engage.. Put you account on private.. But they won't do that as they won't get all the likes they crave

Society doesn't work like that any more. Personal responsibility is goneski.

Dating apps like Tinder are functionally pretty simple. I like the look of you, you like the look of me, that mutual interest opens up a communication pathway. Chucking personal information on your profile really is inviting contact from people you haven't mutually agreed to communicate with. I've got a friend that does some Instagram marketing stuff. Not photos of her in her underwear '@'-ing things but still gets a 'not a real job' from me. Hanyway, her DM part is full of message requests from total creeps. Can only imagine what it's like for 'influencers' and actual celebrities.

Tinder works best for young people as they tend to be students/new to work etc so the criteria is mainly looks and if you're round the same place/doing the same things.

Older people tend to widen their criteria a bit more so are going on more then just a first impression.

I haven't seen girls' pages but it can't be worse than guys. Every second profile (or more) has a selfie with a dog, reference to their dog/fur baby or "must love dogs". It's not awesome.

Lots of people i know have met long term partners and quite a few have married a partner they've met on tinder. Not stupid at all.
