No thanks... cant lead, cant mark, cant kick and will cost a fortune.

This will be the end of it for Sydney, especially if they are giving up best 22 players for him. They had a good run.
Following a club that is in no better condition than what Fitzroy were when they were told no more gives you zero credibility to be turning your nose up at a player of his ability. You have by far the worst group of players that have been listed in the last 10 years. If you are relying on Melbourne,GWS or GC to hold up the ladder next year you bet to get a stronger back brace because Port will be doing the heavy lifting.

We still travel 4-5 times a year.

Twice to Sydney, once to Brisbane, once to Perth, once to Adelaide.

It's unavoidable simply because of the demand from 9 other Victorian sides wanting home games against Collingwood.

We don't need to go through this again.

Lets not derail the thread.
I'm not derailing. I was returning serve to a Pies supporter who came in looking to take a cheap shot. Dunno why you felt the need to join in.

Now back to the Adelaide cryfest.

I respect the Adelaide Footy Club. But In the cold hard light of day, the Swans will play hardball, and we'll get KT on our terms or not at all.
- Brisbane - would max out their player payment budget, lose opportunity for trades for better value players, the Lions aren't likely flag chances for a few years anyway.
- GCS - can't hurt us in our premiership window
- Melbourne - ditto GCS
- Carlton - ditto Brisbane, Judd isn't getting any younger, nor Waite any less injury prone.

Port finished where Adelaide did last year, signed a good new coach, fixing themselves up off field, give them a break.

He'd probably defend Collingwood's right to play 10 games in a row at the G every year too, wouldn't he?
I can't be bothered arguing about travel with an interstate supporter about travel again. It just goes in a circle, because many don't seem to realise that they get a bonus in home ground advantages over teams playing them at their home ground, and that nothing short of giving them more home games than Victorian clubs (which would be ridiculous) can be done about Victorian teams playing at the MCG

I wasn't "looking to take a cheap shot". I was pointing out that what Demitriou says about the allowance has about as much credibility as Gieschen talking about umpiring. They both have vested interests in what they are saying (expanding the game in Sydney for Demitriou), so their credibility isn't very high.

We are having a wonderful time thanks. It's called the icing on the cake. Watching people gnash their teeth and howl at the moon over a player they once loved, and now hate.
You may need to do a bit of research champ. Gnashing teeth over getting fair comp is true enough, but there was never much love for Kurt either from supporters or within the playing group.

Kurt is simply a mercenary who has ridden a very fortunate wave. He will bring some structure to your F50 but little else. You can bet he will create disharmony, people like him always do. No one is really sad to see the back of him.

So you might be enjoying those celebrations, but how about your players? It's already out that this has caused angst...and they're not silly, they will know how Kurt operates. Publicity of Mitchell being shopped around? Great for morale.

You see kurt is a narcissist .....his. type always create a mess and leave it for others to clean up.

All the best with him

I've seen him when he played AFL. And he's shite. If a KPF couldnt get a game in your forward line this year they were very average.
I for one hope he does not want to go to your club and that he gets a go elsewhere because he does have talent. It has been very competitive to get into the side let alone stay there and I feel he suffered from not having a consistent period in the team. I wish him well and he is a team player and very supportive of his fellow players. I also suggest after your numerous posts about Sydney that you direct your negativity, smart arse comments where they belong....Tippett.

Well, do you believe Noble's public statement has any more weight than Ireland's? I should clarify, I mean Ireland's actual statement, not the one that's been repeated to the point that it's accepted without question on the Adelaide board.
Well let's look at it this way. We've got one club trying to recruit a marquee player and doesnt want to give anything up for him versus the club losing the player wanting to be fairly compensated. If you can't spot the difference then it's no point in entering into a discussion with you.

Could be talking tough to the media to make it seem he played hardball before the trade, though we take crows quotes at face value.

Kudos to Noble if he is prepared to draw a line in the sand and say this or nothing good luck to them.

It is funny which articles you have to look deeper into and which you dont

You have absolutely 0 clue on proceedings, nor how either club has handled itself behind closed doors, bar news paper reports and second hand accounts from a fan of one team. So again, do you give more weight to Noble's statement or Ireland's? As SR100 pointed out, is it not just as likely this is a last gambit rather than an actual hardline stance?

Why would Noble say that today if there was a fair trade on offer?

Now we see how desperate the Swans are to have him

Have no issue with us letting him sweat it out. By removing his salary from our payroll we are in front.

Maybe these clubs actually just agree with the respective fans and kurts off to somewhere else in the end

Plenty of reasons.., i think shotties point is andrew ireland made plenty of comments yesterday that were dismissed or apparently covered up cracks yet nobles words are gospel thats all. Apologies if i am wrong shotties.
