Are Sydney so used to getting everything given to them on a silver platter that they have lost touch with reality?

Pick 22 ? Which will end up about 25 with 2 players gone in the mini draft.

Why would the Crows significantly improve a direct premiership contender for a shot at the 27 th best player in the draft ?

It's gonna take a top 5-6 pick, 2 top 15 picks or a player who would be in the Crows best 10-12 otherwise why would the Crows do it ?
Delusional closer to the mark would be 10-12 + a pick in the 20s.

Being uncontracted and wanting out the value drops further ;)

Did not get the Premiership on a silver platter. You dont want us to have him do you ? Why would you be so worried that you have to pedal out the first thing that comes into your scone, which btw is rot. After all Hawthorn have the 2 greatest players that have ever laced up a boot in Buddy and Cyril haven't they ? Necromancer Beth where are you ?

Give us a pick that secures Toumpas and I bet AFC starts to talk turkey. Get it off Melbourne or GWS. I doubt we would ask for 22 then and you can keep White since he is supposedly worthy of being part of the Tippett trade.

Anything short of a decent outside running player + 22. A top 5 pick or 2 picks in the top 10 is just Bay 13 worthy.

With Tippett the Sydney team will be very hard to beat. There will be several teams interested come PSD time.

They way Sydney and Tippett are going, i hope he ends up in the draft and gets picked up by the Power so hes stuck in Adelaide for another year lol
So you would give up a top 5 pick or player equivalent for tippett considering his contract status

So then we get him in the ND, no club would be willing to give up a top 15 pick for a player who doesn't want to play for them as well as paying him 800k a year

Get your facts straight before you post then. He’ll go into the PSD where he has to nominate his fee not the front ended agreement that he supposedly has with your club. Any club who is prepared to grab him then must pay him.

We'll give you pick 19 and Jeansch for....... hang on you guys don't have a player that can bring to the team what Tippett does so you can't see why he is so valuable in the team structure. You've been reading the Spud Tippett thread in the bay and believe it.

Tippett is not worth pick 6 or 2 top 15 picks though. He's a very good commodity, and worth pick 8-12 or a lower pick and a decent player.

Pick 22, however, is madness. Adelaide should let him walk if that's the offer.
We will have to agree to disagree. A player who can clunk contested marks in the forward 50, can run up the ground and collect his own ball to move it forward and the tank and talent to competently take the centre bounce to rest the number one ruckman, in addition he takes a good defender in the forward 50 so in combo with a second forward or crumbing small forward the forward line in dangerous. In addition a proven finals player, re-watch the prelim. Now give that up for a draft pick where there is no guarantee to be a solid AFL player ( see Jack Watts) is dangerous so the draft pick has to be attractive enough.

It is a pity 3 games were concussion effected, and after he returned it took a while for him to regain his confidence.

I do believe people value draft picks too highly, and Tippett is certainly proven, but just going on market value. If Mitch Clark got pick 12 I'd say Tippett is worth slightly above that.

While i respect your idea, i wonder; is it better to accept unders from Sydney (if that's what happens), assuming he'll probably get to Sydney for nothing in the PSD anyway?

Surely if you are worried about making Sydney stronger, letting us have Tippett + pick 22 is worse than letting us have Tippett and you having pick 22?

Plenty of good players have gone lower than pick 22. For example, in 2006 a guy called Kurt Tippett was drafted at pick 32.

I wouldn't think letting Sydney have a free pick 22, while losing out on one yourself helps Adelaide's cause too much.
I seriously doubt Sydney would get him in the PSD but there's always a chance that could happen.

Personally its about setting a precedent. If players know there's a risk of being thrown into the PSD, they might not be so quick to pull the dodgy on us like Kurt did. And you'd be kidding yourself if you don't think his treatment of our club was dodgy. We paid him way more money than he ever deserved and had to endure all that bullshit about being homesick. Then he ends up nominating Sydney, a side that has literally nothing to offer us in terms of picks, a side completely unwilling to part with any of their premiership players. He's completely screwed us here. He's the worst kind of bandwagoner. I could have respected him leaving if he went back to Queensland but this has left a really sour taste.

If we're not going to get anything decent for him, we have nothing to lose with putting him into the PSD.
