Carlisle won't be traded. I doubt Brown (Coll) would be traded too, after the retirement of Taz, Keeffe is still developing, and Brown is in Coll best 22.

What has been floated today by Essendon supporters is the possibility of Gumby & Monfries being included in the Caddy/Tippet trade.

Yes, a FA and a chronically injured KPF will be major factors in the Caddy/Tippett trade :rolleyes:

If he's going somewhere other than Adelaide maybe. A poster on our board who gets some good info (informed us about Jenkins/Johnston/Lynch trades before they happened) has been told we're not the slightest bit interested in Monfries.

Dons make out like thieves in that deal.
Carlisle - meh
what don't you like about him apart from the colour of his sash? Genuinely interested. Most opposition fans see him as a great up and coming kid, big bodied, agile, with a ridiculously sticky pair of hands. What are you seeing?

As I posted in the other Caddy thread re: this question.

This is a decent question, and one that no-one on here could possibly answer with any degree of certainty. Much like the idea of trading Hooker, Gumbleton, Pears or any other Essendon player (+ a 3rd rounder). No-one here knows how opposition coaches rate other teams players. How often have we seen players that we think are average, get turned around at a different club. Sydney have been doing it for years. We sit here and go, player x is rubbish, he isn't worth what you are asking for, but in all truth, we have NFI.

I am pretty sure that all three of the players I named above, would have currency with other coaches, even if opposition fans disagree. No different to the way that we look at players from other clubs and down play their value. In answer to your question, I'm sure Essendon would entertain that trade, if they thought that they would benefit from the trade. No club out there will entertain a trade they know is going to weaken their club, which is why so few trades are traditionally done. The answer to your question comes down to whether Essendon believe that their best 22 with Caddy in it, would be better than their best 22 with Carlisle in it.

In my view, Caddy at this point in time, given that he can walk out on GC for no compensation if he isn't happy with a proposed trade, is only worth a late first or a second round selection. I say that, because all the high first round draft picks, are at clubs he probably doesn't want to go to, GC, WB, GWS, Melb, PA, Bris and quite likely Rich and StK as well. Again, that is only my opinion, the coaches out there might have very different opinions, as may Caddy himself. Whilst not impossible, I seriously doubt that GWS would waste a pick on a kid that doesn't want to be there (Sheedy or not), especially since this draft seems to be pretty good, and most likely nor would any non-Victorian club.

Would I like Caddy at Essendon, of course, but to me, he probably isn't worth most of what is being bandied around here. He isn't worth a 1st and 2nd round pick as some have said. He isn't worth a 1st round pick and a player. If GC want a player, and I was conducting the trade, it would be a one for one, or at worst one + a 4th round pick, because to me, GC are not in a position of strength. I could be wrong at it may end up a furious bidding war, and he may get GC two 1st round picks, who knows. All I know is that most of the trolling BS in this thread is laughable. Unless there is a recruiter with inside information posting facts in the thread (highly unlikely considering the damage that could do to any potential trade), we are all of us, totally clueless as to who will go where for what.

All I know is that Adelaide will end up with a massive win trading out Tippett - A silly club will play a first rounder for an average player.

It doesn't matter what permutations you use - 3 clubs,4 clubs - Adelaide will win.

Another Caddy thread involving essendon, is it needed?

We have no chance in getting him. Our targets are going to be free agents in BJ and Moloney.

Shouldn't Adelaide be getting back Sam Day in a trade for Tippett?

Slightly OT but hasn't Rendall and their recruiters done a brilliant job with that list and no high draft picks. They seem equally good at picking KP's and mids. Traded in for Jacobs, picked up Jenkins dirt cheap and still have Crouch to come, just a shrewd club.
Adelaide recruiters and development staff have done an excellent job with the youngsters. Shouldn't also forget they lost Davis, Gunston and Bock.

y do we have to include essendon??
deal with someone who has something of vale
To you guys, anyone not named Lance Franklin is not good value. Wonder why no-one wants to trade for your 'brilliant assets'? Because last year, you showed you weren't going to be reasonable and just expect too much for your kids.

It wasn't Gold Coast that weren't being reasonable mate. Essendon offered their 3rd or 4th choice key defender + a meh pick for one of the more promising young mids in the comp.

some Essendon supporters are so delusional, we need young BRUT midfielders and caddy is perfect .... he is a bull!!!! and would nearly be our toughest player straight up.. I like carlisle.. but if it means we have to i would trade him for caddy. You have to make hard decisions. Keep Pears and put Hurley back doesnt seem to bad... ****kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
