Is the length of time that this hearing is taking a good sign or a bad sign??

Possibilities

Each side and individual is presenting so much evidence in their favour which has lengthened the hearing beyond what was originally anticipated - allowing for due process

The AFL Commission aren't happy with the plea bargain struck because it is too severe

The AFL Commission aren't happy with the plea bargain struck because it is too lenient

The AFL Commission members can't agree on the penalty.

The AFC are arguing vigorously that there is no evidence of exceeding the salary cap (they said they were going to do that) which potentially would knock back one of the main charges against them

The AFL have come up with more damning evidence (unlikely because it would cause the hearing to be abandoned on the basis of natural justice.)

One of the individuals is fighting tooth and nail v their charges (Likely suspects Tippett, Trigg, Harper in that order)

Thoughts anyone??
David Galbally wont shut up.

This reminds me of Tippett.

The AFL is coming out to give the journalists an update on proceedings and timing.
Think not !

I doubt that AD came out and gave them a formal briefing. But there are quite a few people there, many of whom would know a lot of the journalists. Is it so hard to believe a quiet word on the side to indicate how much longer they think there is to go?

PS Added some punctuation for you...

Yep ...as a glass half full guy i have found myself this week in the empty half :(

Always believed the club was well administered .......this has caused me to become very cynical now

Don't think I'll accept anything from the club in the short-medium term without some cynicism ....have always accepted what they told us
Same - the loss of trust is huge... which for me they can't get back without people exiting West Lakes,

You don't employ Galbally QC to meekly roll over and take 12 months suspension, half suspended. You could defend yourself and cop that.

Who ever picks him up (other than GWS who are spending the AFL's money) isn't going to pay $350K whilst Tippett has his feet up every weekend. So if he misses 12 weeks games he may not get paid anywhere near the $350K for just training, so his QC will be arguing 12 weeks is far too severe penalty for an individual.

Reckon this is what's taking the time, the AFC have copped it sweet, Tippett's QC is actually arguing the charges and penalty. The AFL will be pooing themselves as they wat to make an example of Tippett but don't want it going to court where they would almost certainly lose and that would bring down the house of cards.

So expect this to now drag on. Tippett's camp is in no hurry, the PSD is two weeks away.

The penalties were worked out in advance. The hearing is not actually happening, they met behind closed doors to give the impression that a hearing is taking place. What is really going on is that the Crows have put on a party to say farewell to Kurt after his long and exemplary service and invited the AFL Commission.
We'll get the result when the keg blows.

It's obviously taking so long because they're torturing Trigg, Reid and Chapman with dance music.
Tippett they're just showing every one of his shanked kicks to... we could be waiting a while yet.
They are playing a game of AFC musical chairs, with the last one sitting down... exit stage left.
