Hopefully this will just create more of a bond between the players that are still here, drive us forward into a Grand Final in 2013!

Anyone reckon Tex might request to play CHB when they come up against Tipshits new team? :)
Talia beats him at training doesnt he? Now we just need him to beat him (up) in a game. I'll put money of Tails to win that every day.

I don't have a problem with "buying in" so to speak but the approach and the recruiting style need to be vastly different. Recruiting a bunch of no names and having them buy in has a whole lot more to do with just culture.

Sydney footballers, coaches and staff live in virtual anonymity. They are like average people going about their daily job - the celebrity fishbowl aspect does not exist for them. When they lose - nobody cares.

As AFGM said - less Gunstons, more Walkers.

Oh ok, see what you mean and agree. It's not what I was referring to though.

Can you get weeks for pantsing someone on the field??

Fluff piece, no facts, sounds like they have been reading big footy :) , if he does announce the Suns this afternoon then a few people are going to have to bow down to the all conquering AFGM

I think most of us anticipated that would be where he heads. The compensation is the issue.
If its peanuts then AFGM will be proven right.
I just hope we can get somewhere near a fair deal. Gorringe + the Caddy pick (assuming its in the 9-14 range) would be the best we could hope for I think.

Lets keep in mind that Gold Coast can nab him for nothing in the psd. The club MUST be ruthless with this, even resorting to giving permission to GWS to draft him to ensure he doesn't slip out the back door.

The Suns would have to be A holes to not put up a fair trade and try to get him in the draft, All clubs should act fairly in trade negotiations as at some point the boot will be on the other foot. Caddy pick and Gorringe may well be the deal as others have stated.

I believe that we should be looking at Brad crouch's brother. If he really is as promising or better than Brad and we got him then with Danger and Sloan we would have an elite midfield for the next 10 years and probably no go home factor. We obviously would have to give up a lot but after watching Brad in the Prelim Sunday it just makes you exited by the prospects for next year. Also think that Gumbleton is worth a look. He can play and if he can stay healthy then the sky is the limit.

The locals around here [Beaufort] reckon he's every bit as good as Brad, like Brad very hard at it and nose over the ball type. Sidenote " Both lads are outstanding cricketers too, Bernie should sign up Brad for his cricket team this summer. lol. Dunno how he'd go in a pair of boxer shorts though.

    Matthew Crouch.
MATTHEW Crouch has put up his hand for the Greater Western Sydney’s second mini-draft in October this year.

The Ballarat youngster and North Ballarat Rebels midfielder is endeavouring to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Brad.
Brad Crouch was picked by the Giants in last year’s mini-draft and on-traded to the Adelaide Crows.
Sixteen hopeful 17-year-olds have nominated.

A STANDOUT performance from Vic Country's Matt Crouch has spurred his side to a nine-point win over NSW/ACT in the second game of the NAB Under-18 AFL Championships at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.

Country withstood a defiant NSW/ACT side to win 8.12 (60) to 7.9 (51).

Crouch thrived in the wet conditions up in Sydney, collecting 29 disposals (22 contested) and 10 clearances and kicking two goals in a best-on-ground display.

The 17-year-old left-footer, hailing from Beaufort near Ballarat, is the brother of Adelaide's Brad who was snapped up by the Crows in last year's GWS mini-draft.

I'll second this.

A few smart footballers are great - need a few mongrels in the mix though.

The club should be in his ear telling him to stay quiet next year and circulating rumours about serious hamstring issues/hip problems so he slides to our 2nd pick next year. ;)

anywhere other than a queensland club and he's just chasing money. that's all it is really. his family doesn't live in sydney, they don't live in victoria.

800k here is not bad coin at all. he's not even worth anything like that to us. to offer him 900k-1m is absurd. for what he's actually done so far. halve it and you're closer to the figure. plus he's really one concussion away from retirement (don't forget he had a fractured neck when he first came over too.) if you don't want in, then good riddance. a player is always expendable. especially when they want more than their worth and aren't your best player.

I'm disappointed with the decision, but not surprised, it's never a good sign when a player puts off negotiations until the end of the season. If the text message is real then my opinion of him lowers, but not enough for me to dislike him. If however he comes out and requests a trade to any club outside of Queensland then...

Collingwood have signed Lynch. Surely it only leaves the Suns according to Adelaide Now

With Lynch going to Collingwood, I would say it is pretty clear that it is either Sydney or GC. Gonna be an interesting few weeks!

Wherever he ends up, I can't wait until he comes back to play against us.

Will be a sellout. Even if against GCS.

Hearing Rendell is the man pushing for the Pies to get Tippo. Crows apparently, although I can't find it, have said they expect Tippett to go to the Pies and will meet as early as tomorrow to discuss formal discussions.
