If not money then why Collingwood as opposed to us. Success?? Well he'd be moving from 1 losing prelim final team to another so he'd be hard pressed justifying becoming one of the biggest dogs in football for more success moving from us to you. So what then could it be? If it's purely about leaving Adelaidecause he doesn't want to live here and moving to Melbourne then we (and Port) have some serious long term issues in terms of retaing players and perhaps the AFL needs to scrap Sydney's extra cap room (since apparently the reigning premiers can afford to offer Tippett 1 million a season) and give Port and the Crows a player attraction and retention allowance.

No thanks. No charity please. Just focus on drafting South Aussies and country lads from interstate. No more glitzy posers

Pies fans on their board are going nuts.

Apparently there is a HS article saying that hes very likely Collingwood bound. Crows have already started talks with them too.
David Cloke fuming.

Should have asked for more!

Not surprised.

Thanks for destabilizing the club when all along you knew your decision and never had the :footy: balls:footy: to table it.

Thanks for stringing along your team mates when you blind-face lied to them and gave every indication you were staying to all and sundry.

Hope your career doesnt even get started you guilt ridden gutless sack of excrement. Now FAR COUGHo_O

How the **** can Collingwood afford him? Wellingham is being pushed out due to cap pressure, then all of a sudden they have $800k+ to give Tippett?

Mind boggling
Maybe they don't overpay their mid range players and plan to have a crack at Jolly, Ball and Tippett types? The pull of playing for the biggest club and prospect of team success would encourage people to sign for less too.

So much media BS going around but the Collingwood rumour seems to be gathering speed, no idea how they can pull it off, a couple of late teen picks and Daws no thanks would much rather deal with the Gold Coast.

Seriously though Sydney might have the Money but the certainly don't have adequate compensation. ( what player in the right mind would leave right after a premiership) As for Collingwood How on earth would he fit in their Salary cap?

Pretty Disappointed, but hey whoever is offering $900,000 for a guy who can't kick straight and is one concussion away from retirement well they're pretty damn insane.

Ugh. Collingwood. Least preferred option for so many reasons.

C'mon GC

I think it would have more to do with the promised supplements to initial contract dollars. You know...here kurt, buy this house for $400K, in 5 years time when your time's up, a very generous acquaintance of ours will buy it off you for a lazy $1.4mil....that sort of shit.

It better not be ******* Collingwood.

Do you have a link, i cant find the article

its from a Facebook page that references a non-existent Herald-Sun article - not exactly anything you can take to the bank:

http://www.facebook.com/theafloffseason

Sources close to Tippett according to the Herald Sun believe Tippett is Collingwood bound, and has spoken already with recruiting duo Derek Hine and Matthew Rendell.

Collingwood will have room to recruit Tippett, however will push out at least two players to make the push.

Adelaide football club have also stated that they believe Tippett is Collingwood bound, and will speak
more formally with Collingwood in the next 24 hours to get a deal done as soon as day 1 of the trade period.

The pies are rumored to move on pick 17 they will receive for Wellingham going to the eagles and on trade that, and their pick 18 to Adelaide for Kurt Tippett, giving the crows pick 17, 18 and 19 in the first round of the trade.

Collingwood board are also saying it's all BS. They couldn't fit Leon Davis into their salary cap and have this year signed all their big guns, so without offloading some equally big names, they have no chance of getting Tippett. Apparently they'll also get Q.Lynch so have to unload Dawes first and we certainly won't be taking that beanbag in a trade for Tippett. That'd leave them with a huge Cloke/Lynch/Tippett forward line, using Tippett as 2nd ruck. Also can't see Rendell going to easy on us during trade week so i'm guessing the discussions wouldn't be the most diplomatic..

I don't believe in the "send to the PSD, f*ck him" mentality, any club should get some reward for their players. But I'm wondering if the new list lodgement stuff actually means he won't even go to the PSD, if we went that path.

List Lodgement 1 is due October 31. If he hasn't signed a contract, and he hasn't been traded, surely we have to drop him from the list by this date.

November 1 is the Commencement to Delisted Player Free Agency Period. So, if we have delisted on LL1, he is free to move to any club.

However, if he can still remain on our list under LL2 (Nov 15), then he can go in the ND, if he nominates. After the ND, there is a 2nd Free Agency Period.

November 29 is LL3, so if we can keep on list until then, he then goes into the PSD.

It all depends on WHEN we have to delist him, if he's not traded.

If he goes to Collingwood the AFL's salary cap rules are a feckin joke, there is no way so many top players would take "unders" just to accomodate Tippett, their all obviously party to the brown paper bag syndrome at the big Vic sides!!

Rendell wouldnt be the one pushing it....

Never rated Kurt that highly ( wasn't one of his picks could be the reason;))

The Collingwood rumour is bullshit....

In AFGM and the Gold Coast we trust:thumbsu:
