A few thoughts....
Sydney is the fairest trading team in the history of the AFL. Unlike Essendon and Hawthorn we always take the interests of other clubs or unrequired players into account.

Example 1 - We gave Sean Dempster to St. Kilda for NOTHING!!!! Why? To be nice to him. Rather than put him on the open market where he was worth a second round pick we sent him to a team/coach where he would be a 22 player and under a coach he liked. (threw him in with Schneider trade)
Example 2 - We gave Scott Stevens to Adelaide for NOTHING!!!! (well a pick we didn't want to use)....see above.
Example 3 - We gave Essendon pick 19 for Ted Richards when he was on the cusp of being de-listed. Bombers thought all their Christmas' had come at once. They got Courtney Dempsey :)
Example 4 - We gave Melbourne Pick 15 for their 3rd string ruckman (Darren Jolly)...they thought all their Christmas' had come at once. We got 5 years years of Jolly and on-traded his pick for Lewis Jetta.....Melbourne got Lynden Dunn
Example 5 - We gave St.Kilda picks 13 and 17 and 45 for Hall (Dal Santo, James Kelly (Geelong) and Trent Knobel)

Now let's get real about the value of some of our players. If Luke Parker were in the draft every single team would take him in the top 10.... Examples of recent similar players taken 5-10 who have made it....Cunnington, Polec, Conca, Melksham, Heppel, Myers, J. Selwood, Armitage, Ziebell. And then there are the ones who don't make it. Parker is 19 FFS in only his second year. It is likely that at the end of their careers on Selwood would be above him. There is no way in the world that any club would punt on an 18 year draftee inside mid instead of having Parker who is a dead-set certainty. Had his jaw broken in round one...played on. Came back in 2 weeks to get 4 Brownlow votes before breaking collarbone.....came back in 6 weeks to be a premiership player.

Not that I'm offering him for trade - but at least try and understand his value.

Jed Lamb is not a spud - he is a very, very talented Stevie J type...but quicker....several BOGs late this year after overcoming injuries.

Tommy Walsh is not a spud...he's coming along very nicely.....kicking plenty of goals in 2nds and would be getting a clear run at a lesser club.

Heath Grundy is only a year older than Tippett. 101 kg key defender who was in the calculations of many, many commentators during All-Australian discussions (you don't have SEN in Adelaide but they sometimes discuss players from outside Adelaide). Considering that Rutten is nearly dead and Shaw and Talia are practically teenagers, I'd say that he has more than passing currency.

Of course who you would really want is Rohan or Jetta :) - Um, sorry, pass.

BTW did you know Roos offered Richmond picks 6 and 14 for pick 3 in that draft? That's how much he wanted Dustin Martin...would have swapped Rohan and Jetta for him!!!

Some of the comments made by this Blucher guy are just bizarre... Kurt likes the idea of being coached by Longmire 'cos he's tall? WTF?! He'd be better served just keeping his mouth shut..
Out of all of Blucher's extensive repertoire of bulldust, this is my favourite.

I presume Kurt wouldn't have even moved houses if Primus was still in charge at Port.

So all you've shown here is you guys should be giving us a top 10 pick at minimum for Kurt. You guys better get to work on it soon .

In the end re-signing Kurt has worked out to be a disaster. He has had a very ordinary 3 years. It cost us Bock and we traded in Tambling. Now he wants to strengthen the reigning premier instead he could have been smashed every week for the last 3 years. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think you'll find Adelaide's reputation is right up there as well. Our recent trades with Sydney (Armstrong for Johnston, Mattner for a draft pick, a draft pick for Stevens) were all smooth sailing. What goes around, comes around seems to be the motto of both clubs.

This trade is more complicated though. Equitable compensation is going to be something like what you gave up to get Barry Hall. But you don't have picks 13 and 17. The question is, what players will Sydney have to give up to other clubs to get the picks to trade to Adelaide?

Both Kur & his Manager just need to shut the #### up

The more they try & describe that it was not about the money the more we know it was all about the money

FFS to say it was an opportunity to be coached by someone who was taller than 5ft 9, now I've heard it all

And it terms of balance life style balance I live in Sydney, I do enjoy the city but balance isn't a word for Sydney, it's going all the time

Let's just all agree Kurt prostituted himself and it was all about the biggest bidder, no loyalty, no consideration to play with his mates, no consideration to stick with a club that has lookedvafter him through serious injury & that has developed him

But the way the Swans Board is turning we won't get a fair deal. I can't see it happening at all if its any indication. So tactically I'd withdraw from the Swans deal and either make him renegotiate with Brisbane or the Gold Coast or play the PSD lottery. Lot to be said for sending the message - we do it all the time in the workplace - makes people behave. :)
You know the swans board on BF don't actually make the trade, right? o_O

He wanted GC then Swans due to reasons really unknown to everyone but Tippett (apparently longmire's height in comparison to sando's was in an article, true story) and has since proceed like this:

Tippett: I want to go home, oh look a big pile of money, Sydney is home...
Bulch: flog flog flog floggity flog
Adelaide supporters: give us everything!!!
Swans supporter: you'll get a bag of chips and be happy with it
Adelaide supporter: no get stuffed
Swans supporter: no you get stuffed.

Rinse and repeat with smattering of valid discussion.
Sums up the last few pages pretty well, I'd say.

The way I see it Adelaide need this deal done quickly. Tippett has given them room in their salary cap and they will need to know what they have if they are to take advantage of it. If this deal gets complicated (3 or even 4 way trade) then time will be lost and Adelaide will be left with room in their salary cap and picks but no one to use it on.

Like Adelaide, Sydney need to know if they can trade or they move on and use their cap space on someone else.

Sydney will want to give their first round pick (23) for Tippett and the crows will want a top 10 and a player. They will then probably settle on pick 23 and a player. Who the player is will be interesting.

The likelihood of Sydney or Adelaide trying a 3 or 4 way deal is remote. In past years other clubs have used their involvement to actually scuttle deals. It is not in any other clubs interest to hel the swans or crows improve their lists. Both clubs are realistic chances next year and any deal here will help both clubs.

Expect the deal to be done in the first week or we both miss out. You won't get a first round pick and a player and we miss out on the power forward.

when have any big trades been completed quickly, and given that the trade period does not end until 26th Oct don't expect to much

history clearly shows that this transaction will take time

I also dont think it will as simple as a Swans - Crows trade, it will involve other parties as Adelaide will want more than pick 23 + player unless that player holds a shit load of currency

The reason it will be done quickly is because neither side can afford it to become protracted.

If the deal falls over on the 26th then both sides will have salary cap space to burn and no one to fill it.

When you are a chance to win a title that would be criminal.

We'd pay the same if we could. We've developed him beautifully. His kicking seems to be sorted. He's entering his prime and is on the verge of becoming a monster. (Barring further head-knocks.)
Actually with the benefit of hindsight I'm not sure that we would - his performance, his injuries and his rotten attitude reduces his currency significantly. Which like others is why I'm staggered at what he's being offered. He's one injury away from a surfing career on the Swans.
