If Tippett's family are in NSW, we should let him go to GWS in the Psd - then he gets to see his family and we get AFL compensation for GWS signing an Uncontracted player.

Still don't believe that the Sydney squad will be happy.

Also Horse should know better - the last time I remember a team not trading away a premiership player, it was Port, and look where that got them!
Because GWS can freely take him in the PSD like any other team (no restrictions to uncontracted players), it would seem that Adelaide wouldn't get compensation from GWS taking him in the PSD.

Also, by taking Davis last year Tippett would not be worth any compensation due to the 'One Per Club' rule of signing uncontracted players.

It's not that, the Lions got two compensation picks for Rischitelli and Brennan. It's because this PSD isn't including in the uncontracted players provisions that GWS were given, unlike last year's PSD. That means GWS are free to take whoever they want in the PSD (like any other club), as this PSD isn't covered by the provisions, therefore Adelaide would seemingly not get any compensation if Tippett were to go be taken by GWS (or any other player for that matter).

The overrating of Swans players is astounding.

Lamb struggles in a comp equivalent to SANFL U18s

Walsh is far worse than McKernan and has had AFL games of 3 possessions.

Rohan has a badly broken leg that will take years to recover from. All he has shown so far is glimpses of potential. Top 5 pick? Please. He'd be lucky to fetch a first rounder.

Ever since it was announced that Tippett was leaving my thoughts have revolved around the large exodus of good players from Adelaide. Anybody feel there are more serious issues at the club?

Off the top of my head Gunston, Tippett, Bock, Davis and Maric have left in recent times. For a club that had a successful year and would presumably be in for a period of success it seems baffling for Tippett to leave especially considering the sizeable contract that was put to him by Adelaide.
i assume this has been addressed here but its certainly been adressed elsewhere.

Gunstone wanted to go back to his mummy, bock and davis got offered massive overs to go to expansion clubs, has happened to a lot of clubs, maric was at best an average ruckman here and wanted greater opportunities, we didnt know how much he could improve but then again carlton didnt know how good jacbos was either. Tippett? who knows what his real motivations are. first he wanted to go home, then he wanted the highest bidder, then he wanted sydneys lifestyle, who knows what itll be motivating him tomorrow.

we've got plenty of interstate born players signing 3+ year deals too. do you think dangerfield would have trouble finding a club that would take him back in victoria?

Youve said this a few times and i don't get it .......he wouldn't reduce his salary going into PSD in case he does get thru to Sydney BUT also to put off any other potential suitors

Reducing his salary just invites suitors ??
GC are his 2nd preference - I'm convinced of that. They have the 2nd selection in the PSD, so he only has to get past GWS - who aren't overly interested anyway. He has no chance of getting through to Sydney via the PSD. He has a very good chance of getting to GC.

Yes, he'll end up on a lower salary than what Sydney offered, but he'll also end up at his 2nd most preferred club.

Can't wait for all this to kick off tomorrow. Can't imagine what this thread is going to be like

Hope the deal is done quick so we can see Sydney's soul destroyed
This deal has 10 to 14 days written all over it.

Sydney will hold firm on their first offer and only then when it come latter on in th week they wil start exploring different options with a 3rd or 4th club getting involved.

Bottom line with Grundy is the fact he's on record as saying he doesn't like the Crows, and is not interested in coming here. Good thing, because I don't want him here either.

As long as we leave long enough for our other trades. Should request mediation in enough time if required.

So to all the sydney trolls and even those that dont know they are trolls, theoretically you want to bring in a player who will be your highest paid player. so premiership or not, AA or not, Brownlow or not, you could swap ANY PLAYER on your list and you will still end up ahead. offering half a turd and a late pick... not gonna fly.

to the non troll sydney supporters, nothing to see here, please move along.

Even at $1M per year, he won't slip all the way to Sydney's pick in the PSD.
I am sure this would have already been posted but as I understand it the PSD requires only a 2 year contract to the player so I think your right Vader someone would pick him up for 2 years at 1M before he fell to the Swans pick

Well if Grundy doesn't want to come here and we don't really want him (wrong kind of defender) I would be ok with him going to saints for thier compo pick and us getting that and a Rohan or something similar this would at least be in the ball park of tippets worth.

Saints get Grundy and Sydney 2nd rounder
Sydney get tippett and saints 3rd rounder
We get saints compo+Sydney's first+Rohan

Saints lose compo pick and 3rd
Sydney lose 1st 2nd Grundy and Rohan
We lose Tippett

Sydney losing a bit but they want Tippett pretty badly and they are still not losing one of thier top 5 players for the best available KPF and top 10 in the leauge.

The paper is reporting Collingwood is trying to get pick four from Melbour for Dawes and Wellingham. The way this is looking Collingwood will come out better than us as always. We should be getting just as much thus Adelaide need to let this be known.

As one part of the package, if we don't end up with a top 5 pick or the equivalent, I will be pissed.

I don't know why the Saints would be interested in Grundy. After letting Goddard go, me thinks they're well and truly in rebuild mode, and will be looking for youth.

What type of compo pick do the Saints have?
