What? My source is close to the decision making and is genuine. Could it be at all possible that they didn't know his intentions at the time? All they said to me was: it wasn't about money(that remains to be seen) and they thought he would go 'probably to the gold coast'. That's all I ever said about this - other than the pre-July situation.
Let's face it Jen You, me and your confidante were wrong re the $$$$$$$'s, got the lifestyle and family bit right though. $Kurt$ wants it all...$$$$$'s and family/lifestyle. just screwing the GCS for every last $$$$ just like he did with us last contract. Just wonder if he's been poorly advised by his manager because Kurt's character is gonna take a big hit over the way he has handled this!!

He can't sign, he is not a Free Agent!

Yes he can. He just says top the Crows - only deal with Collingwood ala Gunston and others before him. The player gets to chose where he plays his football, we can not just deal him to club x, y or z as that's the best deal. It doesn't and has never worked like that.

Chris McDermott@ChrisSMcDermott
Bright side @Adelaide_FC is $1 million plus now available on salary cap with no Tippett and no Knights.Time for a serious counter attack.

For once Bone said something intelligent.
This is all very good...but there is noone of real, unadulterated, star/superstar quality available, and this money should be buying someone of this ilk...or a combo of 2 exceptional players...again, there is none available...not that I know of anyway. Goddard was the only choice as far as quality goes...emphasis on was.

Any serious suggestions who we could snare?

I am dreading AFC spending good money on a couple of worthless tools.

Damn... :(

Players don't have to be out of Contract to be traded hell someone who signed yesterday for their club could still come to us if we really wanted them and they wanted to come here.

Can someone jog my memory and remind me how Sydney got an under contract Marty Mattner to move clubs?

Didn't they entice him with an improved contract and then he asked for a trade to Sydney?

We need a KPD, a speedy outside midfilder and a lightning quick forward pocket but who are they and will they move to Adelaide?

Three Words..Neil Bloody Craig!!!!

I'm gutted - really lost for words. What has caused this to happen ? He clearly wants out to anywhere else. Is there something toxic at the AFC ?
Up until last week I was hopeful that Kurt would stay. I am so disappointed. I thought the exodus in previous years under Neil Craig would stop with the arrival of Brendon Sanderson. What's going on?
It's not as though we are a cellar dweller with a bleak future like some teams.

Although I am sure the coaching staff can come up with a 'plan B' I do think this is a major blow to our team's prospects next season.:( We just looked so potent when Kurt and Taylor were on song together.

Or we simply hold off one year and go for Jeremy Cameron by offering him a 3 year deal worth close to $2,000,000 and see the GWS match that.

He is from Dartmoor and that is closer to Adelaide than it is Melbourne.

This. It doesn't have to be Cameron, but wait until next year and spend the money on someone who is worth it. We have a whole lot of salary cap space now and nobody to spend it on. The answer is simple - don't waste it because we have it, or suddenly start giving existing players a whole lot of extra money, just bide our time and wait until there is someone worth going after with big bucks.

GC won't part with a 1st Rd for him. Carlton won't hand over #11. Only Brisbane have prepared to handover #8.

Is Pick 16 & Pick 18 > greater value than Pick 8. It is.

I'd probably prefer #8, to be honest.

EDIT - Wait, Tippett was a Churchie boy?!

My cousins played First XV Union for Grammar - shouldn't know he was a prick!

I understand Kurt, always scanning the horizon for another dollar, is writing a book to be called:

My times with the Crows, the inside story.
What have the Crows ever done for me?
- they used me as a battering ram
- never paid me my true worth
- that bogan Walker got all the glory (just because he flukes a few more straight shots at goal than me).

Same answer, Neil made no secret he was out of favour so Marty was happy to go!!

He was pushed!!

I understand all of that but how did Sydney know he was unhappy?

Didn't Sydney renegotiate an increase in his contract as an extra intensive as well?

Or was that just cotton wool to hide the Neil Craig issue at the time?

But the managers will know that cap space is there to plunder. Best to use now so the fat pricks can't build a third story on their beachhouse.

But it happens Carl. I don't like it either, but I want AFC to have the gonads to be just as creative.

Beams for instance, signed a $1.1m deal over 3 years. With the year he's just had, he could be earning waaaaay more than this. So, he's either a terrific club man, or he's getting some pretty serious perks because he's at Collingwood.

After Danger signed for 600k I think Adelaide told Kurts manager that he will need to take a paycut to remain at Adelaide.
I do not think Kurt or his manager liked this.
