Andrew Ireland talking on Trade Talk to reporters.
Some idiot asked him are they going to enforce the agreement that Tippett can be traded for a 2nd round pick.
Ireland said that there is no such agreement in Tippett's contract.
Today's discussion didn't involve any talk of players - rather that the 2 clubs discussed the manner in which they would bring the trade to fruition. This will be left to be done by negotiations between Beatson and Noble who would have their own private meetings.
Asked whether he thought the deal would happen, he said that he was sure that it would, because Sydney over the last 10 years have shown that they are fair traders and pay a fair price.
When asked what that would be by Rucci, he said that he would leave Beatson to find out what it is that Adelaide are seeking.
Asked whether he still intended to keep their premiership team intact, he said that he hoped so, but we won't know that until the trade is agreed and completed. A definite back down on his chest beating the other day that no premiership player would be traded!!
After listening to Ireland today I'm confident that we will get at least reasonable compensation for Tippett.
