I think there's a bit more to him than that. Giles is fairly competent when pinch hitting in the forward line. I'm not for a second suggesting he should play there on a regular basis, but he's much better at that role than Jacobs is.
If you read a few pages back I actually state this but he is not good enough to hold that position as much as a Tippett or Jenkins does. We would lose too much mobility.

Not quite correct. Andrew Island said that there appears to be a breakthrough but doesn’t have any info or of course will not release the information.

He also said when questioned about Mitchell was that Sydney have never raised his name as a trade option and that he had never heard of it.

Now make of that what you will.
No, he said he'd never be traded. Ever. Which I thought was a bizarrely definitive statement about a kid who hasn't played a game yet.

But you could probably put a line through him for this year's trade period.

Just listened to Ireland on Trade Radio and it was the weirdest thing. His points were.

-Breakthrough made today
-Doesn't wanna trade a Premiership player
-Won't trade Mitchell
-Doesn't wanna trade a promising youngster
-Looking forward to using their picks in the draft.

Made absolutley no sense. How are they gonna get a trade done? Even Terry Wallet had a laugh at him...

Really? I thought the wording was pretty certain. He's not on the table and "never will be". He didn't confirm or deny that we have asked about him, but was adamant that Mitchell will not be on the table.

Things change of course, but i thought it was rather clear cut at this point in time.

signs good
won't say what's involved, but pleased with discussions
Grundy was someone who filled a need (which is ruck, KPD and mid)but not on the table
Tippets income - doesn't know of Tippetts range, but a reckons it would be a big cost.......

Viney is going to be a good midfielder (reckons like Thompson) bargain basement price (reckons top 5 player)

Tom Lee - may have been a mistake delisting, however had struggled with family issues, Club knew it would take time to settle, family support has helped (off field approach)

GWS picks - all clubs will be looking at stealing players in the coming years, Crows keeping an eye on

apart from that not much...

Dear Adelaide Crows,

can you pelase call Sydneys bluff and send Tipp Ratt who is homesick into the pre season draft where I hope theMelbourne FC do another Mitch Clark and pick him up.

If Sydney are going to offer you rubbish then fk them and dont help them out anymore.

The rubbish Sydney are offering is insulting.

If they think they are going to pick up Tipett for a bag of pretzels they are dreaming. I hope you hold your nerve and send the big homesick log to the mercy of the pre season draft.

(still pissed off about losing to them)

Soft spot for Brisbane
Rohan is almost the ideal trade. His risk/reward is very similar to Tippett. But we still need something around 12 with him, I would think.

Had a gut full of this Tippett situation. I certainly concur with the words of Jenkins this week. The Swans fans on the whole are good, but there's a few tossers over there who are saying crap like "give em Jesse White for a straight swap", then any comments which burst their little fairly land bubble result in a red card. Just as weak as Tippett!

How so. Just checked their stats and they are very similar in every category. Giles avg 0.8 more disposals and 0.6 more goals. If Jacobs could have spent more time down forward he would have kicked more goals.

My point is more about agility and once the ball hits the ground. One thing a Tippett, Jenkins, Smack are very good at is what they do when the ball hits the ground. They are quicker and more agile and are able to compete for it better. Once the ball hits the ground with a Giles or Jacobs thats it basically. Also their turning circle is massive. Tipp etc could stop on a dime and change direction quickly. Jacobs and Giles are semi trailers when compared to the others.

Even their ages, height and weight are very similar.

Obviously Jacobs is a HO to advantage machine and Giles doesnt come close there but we are talking about a bloke I am saying is purely back up.
Heafy...happy for your guidance on this one as I gather you have seen him play whereas I have not and was just going by stats.

It may be that sauce was more consistent hence the close numbers because geez Giles had some pretty big games this year, not the kind of numbers sauce would put up.

He's only 24 and in a better side we may see those numbers more often.

Quite frankly we have no idea what Sydney are offering, all we have is media personalities sprouting pure speculation as truth.

Awesome - we're going to end up with nothing.

We're going to end up with a player who potentially won't regain his speed and ability and pick 22 that won't be a sure first gun player anyway.

We're ******* awesome negotiators.
Settle Alex, you're going to blow an aneurysm. No point getting too worked up about it just yet, we really don't have any idea what Sydney offered and what Adelaide are happy to accept.
If we do end up settling for jack-squat, go ahead, but no point getting too worked up about anything just yet.
