Also, unless some of you are sitting on in the negotiations and have heard the entire conversations between the clubs, you know jackshit about what we have or have not threatened etc. You are bagging the club on your own pure speculation and some wild conclusion from comments made today. I'm sorry, but that is pathetic, and a lot of you will be doing 360 turns when this is over.

I trust FAITH in what he has said, and I haven't read anything that says this trade won't work out for both parties. Like he has repeated many times also, be ******* patient!!
Well said BACCS. Panicking over nothing.

Is day 4 of a 3 week trade period FFS! Faith is given me some faith (Pun totally intended) in our team to get the best outcome for the club. Most of what is said in the media means absolutely nothing.

Also, 6,000 posts in two weeks !

Get bent
Wellingham to West Coast- Pick 17
Caddy to Gold Coast- Pick 15
Tom Lee to Saints - Pick 12

Do Sydney have a good reputation as traders? I know whenever Adelaide have dealt with Sydney , Adelaide has been very fair and balanced. However this is the first trade that gives Sydney the opportunity to show their character as traders.
It's a bit like how Ebay works. It's a great idea until someone decides to be a dick and then there's nothing you can really do about it except badmouth them on the internet.

Just listening to Harper on the radio and I have absoutely no faith we'll get anything decent out of this. It's an absolute joke.
Sydney are being absolutely cutthroat in every interview. We're the complete opposite.

The call that we'll NEVER redraft Tippett is ******* stupid. You don't have to have any intention of doing so, and I would hope that we never would - but you DON'T SHOW YOUR HAND. Who the **** taught these monkeys to negotiate? They're throwing the only bargaining chips we have away. Even if it seems completely unrealistic, that small element of doubt that we might actually be serious, combined with the fact that there are 16 other clubs in the league who have a PSD pick before Sydney - two of which have been heavily linked to and interested in Kurt this year, might get us a better deal.
What we've been told is that we're committed to dealing with Sydney, and HOPE to get the best deal we can. In other words, we're letting Sydney dictate terms. Harper scoffed at the idea that we could let Kurt go for nothing, rather than threatening it. They can't be completely 100% sure one of the other clubs isn't looking to swoop for free. Why are we not publicly threatening we'll let him go via the PSD if we don't get a good deal? Why are we completely at the mercy of Sydney and Kurt? If this is what our club is saying to the fans publicly, what the hell are they saying to Sydney? All the talks seems to be preparing us for disappointment.

It defies belief.
It's not often I completely agree with Cornes, but he's dead on.
Soft effort, Adelaide.

Kurt is not a free agent.
Harper: "We won't get another player like Kurt Tippett, we just hope we can get the best deal possible." How ******* defeatist is that?

Rolling over like this is the same thing that cost us Rendell.

Pathetic.
Best post in this thread so far.

Anyone hear that caller Cyril on 5AA getting stuck into Trigg and co?

He mentioned the Rendell saga and how pissweak we were, and how we folded faster than Superman on laundry day with the Gunston trade. Predictably, Steven "I still believe in the easter bunny" Rowe absolutely shot him down.

I agree with him. I am fearful that we are going to go through the same thing with Talia next year as opposition clubs see the SA clubs as easy pickings.

So are we still hoping that we still get GHS by way of a swap for Mitchell to Geelong?? How do you rate Mitchell and GHS Faith?
Im certainly not on top of all the trade variations but when was Mitchell to Geelong an option. Actually why has Mitchell be included at all , he has shown a degree of displeasure being up in Sin City?

Im not sure any one wants to see GHS go but I suppose if player like Rohan and Mitchell are being raised it would take consideration.

By the way an earlier post asked about 42 for GHS. He was p37 2 years ago. If he was in the draft this year he is a R1 player , I have no doubt .

Man, I've never seen so many posters, and even the respectable ones on this board, panic over a trade that we know absolutely nothing about. Noble said he was positive about todays talks, and so did Ireland, but then people draw the conclusion that this means we are going to get bent over? Seriously, wtf. That is like adding 2 and 2 together and getting a million.
Any confidence we received from Noble was evaporated by Harper on 5AA and then Faith came out and said Sydney were being tight arses.

Noble also thought we did well out of the Gunston trade, which we did not. Our nice guy trading history does not fill anyone with confidence especially when Harper has shown our hand.

Yeah I heard it. That Cyril bloke nailed it when he said 'I know you guys have a working relationship with the club and you have to be nice to them'. Grandpa Cornes was very, very quiet when he said that.

Sadly Rowe and Cornes turned it into a classic strawman argument by saying 'you cannot say the club has been badly run'. When it comes to negotiating at the trade table - which was this Cyril guy's actual point - we ain't shit. And no amount of BJs on our club's leadership by 5AA is going to fix it.

Sent Muppett to the Bulldogs....

Seriously, Melbourne has a pretty good 'Lifestyle'.. (worlds most livable city?) .... Pick 5 and Howard and that would be fair IMO.

You probably think we handled the Rendell situation well and got maximum compensation for Gunston.

We are going to get screwed and i don't know how any crows fan could be happy about it. Time to play hardball adequate trade for Tippett or **** him off into the PSD. Burgoyne got 2 first rounders if we dont get the same or equivalent im off with Alex to demand some resignations.

Like many others I'm starting to get quite concerned we are going to do poorly out of this.

And for those saying we have people at the club saying we'll do well out of this... I've heard it before and didn't agree with them.

They are looking to pay him 1M a season (has this been fully confirmed btw?) and ruling out options left right and centre.

We made the mistake at the end of 2009 imo, something stinks about that deal at the time and part of me can't wait for it to come out so we can give whoever is responsible both barrels. Ireland is holding strong as he KNOWS SOMETHING IMO.

It's not just that we'll do poorly; what really ****s me off is the inevitable wishy-washy statement that we thought we did pretty well in the circumstances. Meanwhile Sydney run off into the sunset laughing maniacally.

even if there is a clause and we get jipped, there will be some excuse or general propaganda fed by the CEO, Noble or Harper that a) we've done well, B) that it's better than nothing, c) that we are just glad to see the back of him or d) all of the above. They will shift the focus, and deflect any accountability. we will have every right to be angry.

Well I've sat here for the last few days reading all these comments and I know everyone is entitled to an opinion but think about what you are saying.

When KT announced he was going it was no surprise, I think we only signed him last contract by the barest of margins, I don't think he really wanted to be in Adelaide. So I'm not upset he's going just pissed off by the manner of his departure and him nominating Sydney who out of all clubs are probably the least able to get a decent trade done.

I'm also concerned after listening to 5AA that we may have some kind of obligation to trade him that dates back to his signing again in 2009.

But guys, you can't say good riddance to him, bag his on field performances, note his poor B&F finishes and say that he wasn't much of a player anyway then demand top price from the Swans for him. It is illogical. If he is a gun then it's top price, if he is way over rated then it's something less, and I fear much less.

We've had problems attracting top line players in the past and lost too many to the go home factor so it shouldn't surprise us if no quality Swans player wants to come here. Grundy was our only hope I feel and he has said a big no.

We are over a barrel because if we force KT into the PSD we get NOTHING despite the fact I'd like to do that to him. Other clubs won't be keen on him because of the huge $ and contract length he can demand under PSD rules and he would be more reluctant as a player if forced somewhere than he was for us.

Whilst it sticks in the throat, we may have to settle for Sydney's first pick. Doesn't seem much but far better than nothing. Don't blame the club and negotiators, it's KT that has stuck it to us.

Just once, ONCE I would love them to come out and be strong about it and actually mean it. Come out and demand overs and say - give us that or he will not go to your club.

We need to grow a backbone, stop being the nice guys.

The benchmark in all this is pick 8, as this is what we were offered last year.

Anything less is poor management of a player they must have known was high risk.

We all said it last year ... send gunston to the draft, make a statement. The worst of it is not the other clubs seeing us as soft, its the interstate players who have seen they can walk in walk out at will.

Sydney are saying he is worth $1M a year.
Our own club is saying he is worth $750+
A few other clubs were playing in the same ball park.

So it's not 'us' how are setting his value - it's the market.

All we expect is our club take advantage of that to get the best possible outcome.

They shouldn't have signed him in 2009 if he was so deadset intent on leaving, we begged, paid him too much (arguably) and its gained us **** all. We could have been investing our time into someone else AND kept Bock.

Now they need to create the best possible outcome of a crap situation - and given past history I don't think its unfair that people are assuming its not going to end well.

Pick 22 is ridiculous. Why do we have to settle...? Seriously, why do you think we have to settle?

The club, and us, only have the club to blame.

I'm getting very bad vibes on this Tippett trade.

Rowey is repeatedly saying that yes, he will be traded to Sydney, but it won't be pretty. All we will get is pick 22.

He is saying that there are complications associated with Tippett's previous contract which will impact adversely on this trade.

He won't say what it is but there must be something because when Phil Harper came on Rowey mentioned again that Tippett's trade will be adversely affected by something associated with his previous contract and would Harper like to talk about it.

Harper didn't refute it at all, but said that no, he wouldn't, and would rather talk about positives like Callinan being promoted to the main list.

Harper definitely wanted to get away from this topic as quickly as he could. His response virtually confirmed that what Rowey is saying is fact.

Cornesy has been pumping Rowey both before and after the Harper interview about his comments, but all that Rowey will say is that it will come out when the final trade is announced.

I hope to hell that it isn't as drastic as Rowey believes it is, but after hearing Rowey and Harper talking, I've lost complete hope of getting anywhere near a fair deal for the money-grabbing Gold Coast arsehole.
Come on Macca, why the hell would he want to give air time to a ridiculous hypothetical from rowey? I don't know how many times people have to say THERE IS NOTHING IN TIPPETS LAST CONTRACT. Even Andrew Ireland said it. FFS!
