Why not? Last year they said no to pick 8 + Polec. This year we're throwing in pick #20. That could well be enough to get this deal across the line.
Maybe. im just factoring in the current circumstances and that its likely to be a last minute deal. I think with what we were staring at last Thursday, Polec and second rounder will look pretty good.

There just wont be the time to haggle and wait out another party.

Simple. This is based on Brissy obviously wanting him. If they dont cough up something decent we can just stick with your offer so he does not go to the draft and they miss out.

Brisbane, with our help , have him snookered. Just a matter of whether they have the nuts for it
I think I misunderstood your original post. I thought you meant that you would put Tippett in the draft in return for Brisbane allowing a trade for Polec for unders at a later date. If you are talking about trading something decent for Tippett, then Tippett would have to agree, which seems unlikely.

No, if tippett says no to the trade then the deal for polec at unders is done now. This buys Brissy the chance of getting him in draft ie we stop talking with you. Ive explained it over 3 posts, so if you dont get it then Im not responding again on it

At some point Tippett is going to have to decide between taking a gamble on the draft where he can easily be poached by GWS, Brisbane, Freo, GC, etc or orchestrate his own destiny by agreeing to a trade to a place where he'd be happy to play and live.

Damn this message from Kurt has some Irony about it now

He actual states in the video GC is his home. Makes his attempt at trying to pass off Sydney as his home even more a farce.

If Brissy have the money and the nuts, they can absolutely snooker Tippett. They can tell Bluched he either comes now quietly and we will get it done with Adelaide, or we will get him in the draft.

If he goes well and good. If not Brissy do us a favourable on Polec anyway and we lock out Sydney so Tippett goes to the draft.

In this scenario both Sydney and Tippett lose complete control. If Brissy do this in good faith then I would suggest we could not then use that to bargain up Sydney. We agree to support Brissy on the understanding that one way or another we get Polec....in doing this Syd are out and regardless of what kurt wants or does not want...he's playing for Brisbane next year.
I hope youre right mate.

I would love to grab Polec, as he is exactly the sort of player we need. Even their draft pick(s) would be a winner.

Thats exactly what Im saying. Ive explained it over 3 posts, so if you dont get it then Im not responding again on it
Fair enough. The fact remains though that Brisbane have no incentive to do a deal like the one you are suggesting. Quite aside from them risking being charged with draft tampering, they can just bet on Sydney not making a better offer (and several sources in the know have suggested that we wont make a better offer) and you putting him in the draft.

Notice how Rucci doesn't actually say anything has happened. He simply asks a question.
I could tweet, 'has Collingwood entered the Tippett trade talk?' and it would have just as much currency as Rucci. Like his articles all week, he is simply guessing based on nothing more than what the rest of us have. He remains an opinion writer and not a journalist in any way shape or form.

Vader, Polec was never on the table last year or else Tippett would be a Lion. It was pick 8 offered in the first 10 minutes of trade week and no more conversation took place after that.

"Never in the field of football trading conflict has so much been written by so many which contains so little" ..........and I include myself. I'm waiting for Friday and 4 Rucci-free days. And by the way, onya AFC, don't give the slightest whiff of a story to Rucci re the trading......he will be working deep into the night over his keyboard trying to figure an article to once again discredit the CRows over this saga.

What good would a 2nd rounder be to us? If we receive Polec in the trade, then we'll only have 1 list vacancy remaining.

Tippett + 20 <--> Polec + 8
elevates our position in the draft (for our only "live" pick) from 20 to 8 - a good outcome. This trade is inherently biased in Brisbane's favour, but we can live with it as with pick #8 in our pocket #20 becomes surplus to requirements.

Tippet + 20 <--> Polec + 28 (?)
drops us several positions in the draft and effectively rates Polec > Tippett, which is blatantly untrue. Seriously bad trade - albeit still better than what Sydney are apparently offering.

Rucci is trolling us - no point discussing Brisbane trades, he'll just be sitting at his desk in Waymouth St having a little fiddle as we all begin talking about the possibilities of Polec + 8 + Redden + Rockliff + Patful for Tippett.

OK it's 5 minutes into the last quarter - time to make our substitution.

Nobes - you're off.

Peter J - you're in (hope you're free this week :))...go get'em Tiger!

This year Tippett is uncontracted, with Sydney supposedly offering you peanuts apparently, and his concussion issues. Pick 8 alone is what I'd offer personally, without throwing Polec in too. I don't see how any team would be offering better than pick 8, and giving up pick 8 to send him to the PSD is more significant than turning back 23 + White in my opinion.

Doesn't really mean much anyway if Tippett refuses to be traded anywhere but Sydney.
