Because any sensible, reasonable, not completely ******* irrational person would know it's a joke?

He should be arrested?

Jesus.

If you want to arrest people for making jokes or stupid comments or hurt feelings, then you may as well shut down the internet and throw everybody under the age of 40 in prison.

You can call me a wowzer all you like, my opinion won't change unless you say anything to contrary that is convincing.

It's completely unacceptable to threaten or jokingly threaten to kill someone. How do you tell if a complete stranger is joking just because it's a line out of a movie? You can't and the tweet it completely idiotic either way.

99.9% of the time it's just a joke..
The other 0.1% though.....

You just don't want to be the one on the 0.1% end of it..
It does happen..

To totally discount is to totally discount many of the things that have happened in time and people say "who woulda thunk eh?"

Agree 100%. Whoever tweeted that is a complete tosser. Probably too stupid to realise what a mistake he has made. This unfortunately is the world of Twitter/Facebook and that is why I stay away.

Context and common sense.

How's this for journalism? Can you pick the error?

Adelaide's hand in the game of poker that will unfold in trade month was strengthened when the AFL revisted the rules on Greater Western Sydney which has the first pick in the pre-season draft in December.

Crows officials feared Tippett could block a trade deal to slip to Gold Coast without compensation in the pre-season draft, where the Suns have pick No.2.

It was understood by many AFL club officials that GWS could not use its No.1 pick to claim an uncontracted Crow because it had already made a wildcard poach on Adelaide with key defender Phil Davis.

AFL legal executive Andrew Dillon says the rule stopping a second uncontracted Crow from joining GWS in the pre-season draft applied only to last year.

It has already been announced Adelaide walked away from the "gentlemen's agreement" it made with Kurt Tippett.
Crows chief executive Steven Trigg told Tippett's Brisbane-based management any trade offer from Gold Coast or Brisbane will not be looked at more favourably than those from non-Queensland clubs.

Adelaide wants to claim the best deal possible for losing Tippett, Trigg said.

And the bidding for Tippett - currently led by Sydney with a $1 million-a-year deal - continues, with Carlton coach Michael Malthouse joining the race for the 25-year-old's signature.

Tippett has not yet nominated his club of preference for a trade.

Tippett, a 104-game player with Adelaide, will be a major pawn in the trade talks that open at Etihad Stadium on Monday morning.

Tippett may choose Sydney because of its million-dollar contract offer but the Swans have to find trade subjects - players and draft picks - to satisfy the Crows.

Adelaide list manager David Noble said : "Life at the footy club will survive without Kurt Tippett ... we will get stronger and better."

If there is no deal when trade month ends on Friday, October 26, Tippett can slip to the pre-season draft pool and join Gold Coast with no compensation to the Crows.

Honestly guys, if we think we're going to get pick 6 and a 2nd rounder for tippett (or close to that) its just wishful thinking IMO.

the ABSOLUTE BEST we will get for him (IMO) is pick 8. nothing else. just pick 8.

the most likely outcome (IMO) will be pick 13 or 14 plus a player (probably a scrub that we see potential in).

Yes, i am fully aware he is worth more than that. I think we deserve more than that. I would love more than that.

I think we all just need to understand that due to the fact that we are effectively being bent over a barrel we will not be receiving more than that.

Hopefully my pessimism is proven incorrect.

I think Brisbane would add their second rounder to get the deal done. That should be the minimum we accept. Frankly for less, I'd be happy for the club to let Tippet go to GWS in the PSD. If all we get is 13 or 14, I'd definately send him to GWS. Dont worry about GWS passing on him in the PSD either. If he's there, they will drop all other plans and take him, no doubt. They'd be idiots not to.

Not sure if mentioned by the Dees are keen on Caddy.

They (Dees) have two picks in the top five due to the Scully pick.

GC want Tip

We want a pick in top five.

Adelaide Give up Tip
GC Give up Caddy
Melbourne give up pick 4

Adelaide Gain Pick four
GC Gain Tip
Melbourne gain Caddy for essentially the loss of Scully.

That works for everyone except Melbourne. Surely Caddy hasn't shown enough to be a better option than pick 4/5 in this super draft, or to be equal in value with Tippett for that matter.

I feel when the quote is directed at the person, it has to become a serious matter as no one can tell the context of the words. No matter of where the quote comes from or the intent it was said in.

When that person is directly removed, the joke, humour, intent or context can be included and used in a very different way.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree, I doubt Melbourne will swap pick 4 for Caddy. In fact I doubt anyone would swap a pick under 10 for him.

It would be a good outcome but I don't think they will give up the No4 pick, especially if we nominate Viney, they would then have to pick him at 3 and then Caddy at 4. too much young talent for them to do this I think. But it would certainly get my vote if they were keen.

Melbourne also have the No13 pick, I think this is more likely what they will be offering for Caddy

I agree with this, if we get the Caddy pick it will be in the 10-15 range. I would also want a player with that but who knows? It could end up just being that pick.

But if you somehow decide not to nominate Viney. Can't see it as draft tampering to not do something.
