Hang on ....by the time compo picks for Goddard are factored into this draft (and maybe others) ....Sydneys 1st pick could slide another couple of spots

This is just a bad trade ......it doesn't address our 3 areas of need ...it's simply taking whoever Sydney think is dispensible

We are in the drivers seat ......it has to be one of Sydney's untouchables for our untouchable (Tippett)
I thought it was established that AFC are not in the drivers seat with demands?

Tippett can go to PSD if everyone butts heads for the next 3 weeks or so...

People on our board are just throwing his name up because he isn't widely liked. The coaching staff would never let him go, he's one of their favourites.
We have Grundy covered with Shaw and Otten .......need a taller KPD to cover the biguns like Tippett and Danniher that are coming onto the scene

I have a question.... and its probably been answered already but can GC rightfully expect tiippet to slip throught to the PS draft after already securing Bock as an uncontracted player?

GO YOU CROW BOYS
I've been suggesting for ages that AFGM has strong contacts with the club. Evidence, his ridiculous campaign to have internet posters apologise over their disgraceful treatment of Craigy. Even Jenny hasn't banged on about it as long as AFGM has. (and to be fair this Tippett fiasco has finally put an end to it.. thank god).

On Sydney - Reid for Tippett and our First rounder.

Yeah, I believe that rule was only for 1 year with the uncontracted players.

Yep exactly, so where does AFC hold all the cards?

That was the case with yourselves as you only had to worry about GWS

But if it's Sydney ....they have to worry about 16 other clubs, 16 choices b4 Sydney get the opportunity

And Tippett doesn't get a say .......do you think Freo who were chasing Cloke will say no to Tippett at the same price they offered Cloke

Or Carlton who are desperate for a tall KPP ....who also chased Cloke and have declared their interest

No Sydney is better for us in negotiating than GC ......but you have the type of players we need ;)

I guarantee you Grundy won't be coming to Adelaide. I know this for a fact.
Thats fine Crowman believe you but how in the hell are Swans going to get this deal done .
They have not waved $1m around just for fun and they must know they will have to come up with a great deal to get it done .
Especially as their culture is a strength of theirs dont see how where trading a premiership player is creating strong unity within ranks .
Even using someone like Rohan in trade with no extra benefit for him seems callous .
No point in us accepting a fringe player plus pick 20 as likely poor return .
Just dont understand a premiership club bringing in someone as highest paid.

Highly doubt we would want to take over Reids 5 year contract signed last season???

But i wouldn't say no ......but why are we throwing our first round in as well

It would be Reid and 2nd round pick .....same as Rohan and 2nd round pick

You realise you can get 3 and 4 way deals? The trade doesn't have to be directly with just 2 clubs :)
Even so, Sydney would still have to give up something equivalent in value to Tippett overall - and they just don't have any such trade bait or picks to work with.

I for the life of me cant fathom that he hadn't chosen his club when he knew he was leaving. He knows the $, he knows where he wants to live. Make a decision you knobhead, I'd hate to see him in a food court
I suspect he had, until he made his contract demands and the GC baulked at them...

Watched him all year live ........absolute SPUD

Slow, poor marking skills, and body on body he's not strong

Saw him against Richmond and Reiwoldt just ran him around and dare i say outsmarted him .......he's a trier but no club nibbled last year, Fletcher soon to retire, and Essendon still trying to offload .....buyer beware

No he doesn't become like Davis and Bock, because he was offered huge money from us, they weren't. He is a conniving selfish shithead who claimed he was homesick until someone was prepared to buy him out.
The impression I get is that he genuinely wants to go home.. but isn't happy with the salary currently being offered by GC. If Sydney are prepared to offer $1M per season and GC are only offering $600k, then that's a significant difference. In the short term, he's trying to wedge GC into increasing their offer. Failing that, I think he's probably facing a genuinely difficult decision. Assuming both are willing to offer him a 5-year contract then we're talking a difference of $2M over the course of the contract. That's a lot of reasons to be signing with Sydney, despite his original intentions of going home.

Hey guys, I don't mean to butt in but when one of your posters posted on the board I was curious as to what the news was with this, and thought I might throw up two suggestions.

The first is the Lamb deal, which would be essentially Lamb + 22 for Tippett.

The other would be a re-hash of the Gunston deal with Lamb added on: We trade away our first for your second, second for your third, third for your fourth PLUS Lamb for Tippett

How does these sound over in Crowland?

Go the Crows by the way, my old man and brother are supporters so they'll always be a second club to me.
I know Lamb is expensive these days but that's very much unders. Tippett's ($9615 per kg) cost alot more than lambs ($20-$40 per kg)

For the moment. Watch to see what Brisbane do they have plenty of salary cap space would be shocked if they didnt offer big money for him.

Does anyone know if GC can even afford Tippo?
Rumor they offered 650k p.a;
Adel 750K p.a
Sydney 900k p.a
Brisbane maybe if they offer 850 p.a will be enough?

dont sydney have a few players going onto vets list, therefore creating salary cap space?
I'm sure they do but suspect Goodes may already be on Vets list

If Goodes retires end next year as well as Bolton (maybe this year with his knee op?) then maybe Sydney will slightly backend the Tippett contract to factor in money Goodes and Bolton will free up

Look they can NOW .....BUT the problem with having all your list around the same age bracket is they all want contract increases at the same time.

PLUS

We know that as players come out of contract all 16 other clubs will be trying to rape and pillage GC
They need salary cap space to fend off some of the Piranha
