Think this Thread should stay open for as long as Tippett plays AFL. When we having a bad day we can come here bag $kirt and go away stressed relieved. Or trip back through the highs and the lows. The talk about what is your favourite sauce in or out of the fridge, the merits of wikipedia, which of Trigg, Tippett, Blucher or Ireland is the stupidest...that could be a hard one to solve. 17500 posts about a guy who still isn't gone, we got nothing for him, we probably won't get a pick in the draft, we will cop a fine and our CEO will resign. We've laughed, cried, groaned, yelled, uttered many swear words, used silly, flog, Muppett, dumbass and many others....the best of times *sniff*.
When Doodle48 began this post a mere 24 days ago little did we know that it would average over 730 posts each day and still going strong.
I just want to know when the Adelaide BF Tippett's Gone T-shirts are coming out...would make em myself, but I'm shite at design.

if that's the case then she shouldn't have written the articles. so she wants to write the articles based on one source and expects not to be asked genuine questions? she should stick to what she knows/prefers then and stop whining.
I can understand where she's coming from TBH. When they asked her if she had seen the "letter" with the 3rd party deal on it, she said she hadn't and that she trusts her source.

They (Cornesy and Rowey) then basically questioned her ability as a journo, saying she should have fact checked it more. I'd say thats where she's coming from. When you've been a journo for 12 years, and have one of the best reputations in the industry, its probably a bit insulting to cop that on a public interview.

It wasn't about "copping" hard questions. It was having her journalistic ability questioned which she would've objected to.

Cornsey and Rowey don't know what journalistic ability is. They just smash in, but they do occasionally ask the questions that no one else who had any idea about how not to insult your guests would ask.

Rendell has said countless times since he doesn't hold grudges and moves on with things straight away, do you not believe him? He said there were no ill feelings towards Trigg or the club.
Loose lips, sinks ships as the saying goes.

Matt Rendell does also have a tendency to say some stuff that he doesn't actually think will matter.

Also, Emma Q got the information from the Crows, John Reid, Matthew Rendell or the Tippett family. She said tonight, the last time she spoke to Kurt Tippett was in his rookie year (and had never spoken to his dad), you will find any reason to not believe anyone at the Crows fed her the information and now you're suggesting it couldn't be Rendell.

So it must be John Reid right?

So who picks him up now. Putting aside possible dereg. I wonder how he is feeling about sydney now. He must have assumed smooth passage and that syd would just get it done....I am Kurt tippett after all. But then he watches while syd don't offer a thing of value and watch him burn rather than give up a player.

We know they still want him but will he want them now?

Maybe he will just be happy to get back to daddy in qld.

Will be interesting

For sure it is someone in the AFL offices. The Crows took their paperwork about the side deal to the AFL on friday, story broke after this. The person that gave her the info would have seen the paperwork. Could have even been the photocopy person in the AFL house.

Cheers:cool:
Epic is the word, draining is another.

IMO we would be very lucky to receive any compo for this whole debacle. Why would they give us picks if they ban us from picking up any players? If they just fine us well then scream and shout. I would be happy with no first round picks this year and giving us 2 first rounders for Tippett for us to use next year. Pipe dream I know.:(

Blucher was media manager at the lions. Prior to that a journo at the courier mail. I'll leave the rest to you...

she wouldn't have complained if she had seen the evidence. as a journo for 12 years she should've known that having 1 source and not seeing the evidence is not enough to stake the claims she did as if they were fact. in most of her articles she didn't emphasise that this is alleged or that is alleged, that her source said such and such and that she hasn't seen the emails herself. i think every question that was posted was justified and showed that she was merely the mouth piece of one individual.

That is how I read it too! I cringed when Rowey asked her 3 times if she had seen the letter herself! FFS she told you already a number of times.

Emma has a reputation as an excellent journalist. A reputation that has been built precisely on not being trigger happy and writing about things that she is 100% confident that they are correct. To then have that questioned by dumb and dumber is quite frankly insulting! We are talking about Stephen ******* Rowe, the same idiot that got his station into a shitload of legal trouble a few years ago when he stupidly alledged some relationship between the CFC and the umpires that supposedly screwed us in a game against them!

If I was Emma, I too would be insulted to have my integrity questioned by those who lack it themselves!

she didn't seem 100% sure. i mean, she wasn't sure if the afc said not to tell the afl about the deal or not but she put it in her article anyway. even "excellent" journalists can make mistakes and she has. for all we know the story is true but she had no business writing things that she could not back up with evidence without emphasising that it was her source that said this or that.

Her source could well be high up in the AFL given her confidence:
"@DickBranson I wouldn't have gone with it if I wasn't 100% sure trust me. Better to miss than be wrong."

Also for those bashing her:
''@ozporkhunter22 nah they were fine really, I'm probably just being a bit precious!'

I think there would have been an understanding that 23 and a fringe player was all they were willing to offer. Kurt would have to be satisfied that Sydney offered more than the contract required. Not that Sydney knew of the contract ;)

Could it have been the AFL's way of bringing it into the public domain?

I still remember Nick Gill's first kick in AFL footy for Adelaide (possibly his first AFL game???). Takes a screamer in the goal square then misses from point-blank. lolz (I wasn't laughing then!)
