Bingo. Blucher was obviously waving it around to all and sundry....like a get out of jail free card.

Yet AFC claim the 2nd round, club of choice agreement was terminated after three weeks. The only agreement Adelaide has referenced is a "gentleman's agreement" to assist KT to return to a club in his home state. Maybe Blucher waved them both around... the obsolete to Sydney, the current to the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Once the AFL knew it was game over. Sydney & Adealide were told NO TRADE by the AFL on the 23rd.

The AFL said there would be no trade involving Tippett that adhered to the agreement. They obviously viewed Sydney's offer as being around the mark of a second round pick. Pick 23 is a first rounder by name only, and having to take Jesse White as well doesn't increase the value of pick 23, it makes it worse.

Agree, also pick 23+White is better that a second round pick, so how were they holding the AFC to the agreement?

Ok either
A- You really believe this which means you have No ****ing Idea about footy- end of discussion or
B- You are a troll- in which case piss off

Seriously, even the AFL said it was a joke, hence all this shit going down

Yes and it will quite properly be 'business as usual' until the investigation is over and the Board decides his employment fate. Its not at all hard to be fair...

So, you are the highest ranked policeman in the traffic area. You get pulled over doing 180km/hr in a 60 zone. You're over the bac limit, test positive for amphetamine use and they find a few kg's of coke on the boot. You are suggesting that this employee continue in their job until each and every one of these charges is heard in a court of law. Fair enough, innocent until proven guilty. So, you have now been found guilty of all charges within the expedient time frame of 4 months. You lodge an appeal. Can you be stood down yet? Or do we have to wait for the conclusion of the appeal. Somewhere within that hypothetical exists the opportunity to suspend the employee on full pay pending the outcome of the investigation. Your preference is that you continue making strategic & operational decisions that impact the present and future direction of your employer.

The evidence is the actual charge, if that makes sense. If sydney did nothing wrong, the trade would of gone ahead.

Everyone knew about the agreement. Caro wrote about it 12 months earlier and a CEO and a list manager would not have missed that piece of news.

However having said that knowing that there is an agreement and knowing all of the details so as to use it to your advantage are two things. The alf would need to prove that Sydney knew about the specifics of the agreement and then used them to their advantage. Sydney would argue that Tippett nominated them and them only so they did not need to offer anymore than 23. They would also argue that 23 and white is better than 23.

Now if in there dealings with Adelaide the swans mentioned the agreement of if tippets management tell the afl that the swans were informed of it the they are gone. And will get there right wack. No argument, you break the rules you cop the punishment.

But it can't just be "they must have known". We all think they probably did, but the afl must have proof.

Given that the AFL will ask Sydney if they knew about the illegal aggreement, what is Sydney going to say. "No we didnt know".

Its reasonable to assume they did know given how they held out on the trade. It would also be my guess that the AFL would assume the same thing. With no proof the AFL would be vary concerned about trusting the Swans in the future if they believed the Swans did know and if the Swans said no they didnt. So for the Swans to actually lie is not a smart option. Added to this would be the risk of other involved individuals admitting that the Swans new. If this were to happen then Sydney would lose all credibility with the AFL.

It would be far smarter for Sydney to admit they did know.

Must be stoked to still be st Sydney. They really appreciate him there.
Hopefully he is appreciated by the other players and having Kurt will make it bloody awkward. So much for the Bloods culture. Their management have shown they are full of shit.

Totally agree... and with any luck they'll name the source - and that would increase the heat on Blucher.

1970 Crow I am weary of correcting your blatantly incorrect posts. Suspension is not a legal requirement in civil employment law but is optional. The decision to suspend or not suspend is the right of the employer in this case the AFC Board. You prove how little you know by using that example. I repeat this is a civil matter which is subject to different processes and standards of proof. The Board has decided that it is in the operational and strategic interests of the club that the CEO is not stood down during a CIVIL investigation. If they suspend the CEO then there is a high possibility they would have to suspend half the recruiting/list management team in the middle of trade period. This is not a criminal matter. The Board have made the correct decision as far as we can tell under the circumstances. And I'd take a guess at the lawyer who is advising them - and I'll bet it's the best in Adelaide. I prefer that advice over yours anyday.

Now I suggest you go play in an area which you have expertise as this is clearly not it.

The scuttlebutt is he doesn't work hard enough. This disaster may just solve that issue. If we'd ended up with him it may not have registered with him. It may now, and he might become the footy player that he can be.
Firstly Jesse asked to be traded. So the swans then tried to facilitate that.

Jesse was a poor trainer. However he fixed that this year and his work rate has gone through the roof. By the end of the year he was playing in the ruck for whole games. This is something he would not have been able to do in previous years.

What he desperately needs is an opportunity. Something that is or was unlikely at either of our clubs.

I feel so sorry for the bloke. Tippett and Sydney owe him a massive apology.

Did White ask for a trade after Kurt announced he was going there and his opportunities were non existant? Must be doing wonders for team harmony.

Whilst I agree with fairfooty, its easier to knock this out on the grounds of incorrect analogy.

A better analogy is the senior police officer gets a phone call from the commissioner saying.....you seen the papers today? Some journo says you were speeding, dui and doing drugs, so im suspending you as of now.

Lunacy

Dayton I agree. He's certainly the innocent party in all this. And the trade system needs to be improved so this doesn't happen. Haven't thought it through fully but something like a confidential process, with independent negotiators to facilitate the trade process between clubs to minimise the collateral damage to people like Jesse White. At least a confidential process means public rejection and damaging public discussion as happened to Jesse doesn't occur.

Who's up for going to Rundle Mall on Friday and setting up a Hugs for Jesse stall?

Punters could hug a cardboard cut out of the poor bloke to make up for the fact he has copped a fair bit but isn't a total kurt
