Now what happens if we are found to be not guilty?
Didn't the AFL pull the trade process before the trade window closed? If that is the case then we should sue for restraint of trade. We will have been prevented incorrectly from participating in a trade with Sydney thereby removing our opportunity to receive a fair price for Tippett. Now any fair judge would call that a top ten pick, despite Sydney's reluctance to arrange for one.
So, let's sue for pick ten at next year's draft.

Steven Trigg is safe.

Some will be happy, same will be angry and upset. But the way I heard Rob Chapman answer that question, indicated to me that he won't fired.

I think we'd all have to say it looked bad on the info we first had. Big lesson on not believing everything written in the papers...guilty as charged:oops:

Great to hear Chapman say they will take the AFL to court if the punishment is unfair. Fine coming our way and we can move on.

Yeah, if we can just come out of this with a fine, that will be a win.

However, if we somehow come out of this totally innocent, can we hand out legal bills to the Tippett family?

Not a raid as reported. AFL invited to do complete forensic tests of all AFC records.

Chapman still sticks by his previous statement that there are no salary breaches etc by the AFC.

It's all about due process, all about natural justice which is why hearing has been delayed.

Concerning to AFC how much the depth of information is being drip fed into the media, when it's not all correct as well.

Asked whether back flip re Judd's 3rd party deal helps or hinders, he refused to say anything other than "interesting". He looks forward to when he can say something open about the 3rd party deals.

Wants to bring to a conclusion as quickly as possible but also we must get due process and natural justice.

Ivory tower decision was not Trigg's a sstated in papers. It was Board decision before GFC and move to Adelaide Oval mooted.

Will cop medicine for things club has done wrong, but will not accept charges and punishment for things that club hasn't done.

Refused to speculate re sanctions.

Refused to comment on whether Tippett camp have taken legal action re AFC.

Trigg has full support of Board, and won't hang a bloke for one mistake (implying that there are no other offences)

He said they will cop a fair penalty, but will fight one that doesn't fit the offence.

IMO there was as much info in what Chapman didn't say as what he did say.

He obviously believes there is only one charge that is valid, and it is not worthy of a major penalty.

Interesting times ahead. The club has taken off the gloves and is prepared to fight with bare knuckles!! :thumbsu:

You're right.

But I feel, we will have a new CEO by the 19th of November 2013. I don't know what will happen to him but I feel he will move on by his own accord.

You almost sense from the interview that this might get resolved soon and what we are going to get charged with won't be excessive.

I hope so. We'll be wanting compensation for Tippett and Joyce, and if we're feeling particularly nasty we should try to recoup our legal costs.:p

Rowey asked has the Tippett camp got a legal suit against your club...long pause...ummmmm (YES THEY BLOODY HAVE) no comment.

I think they tried to - trade him to Sydney or else, but our hands were tied by the afl who said no trades to be done.

Just on this point, and the reason for the delay, I would be very surprised if it was at the AFL's instance. At least one of the AFC-related parties briefed new counsel on Thursday evening or Friday morning, and it takes time to prepare any case. The fact we talk about "due process" and "natural justice" - basically legal jargon for "we want a fair hearing" says to me that we said there just wasn't enough time to prepare.

Interesting as well that Tex had a pop at Tippett on twitter. Tex was, publicly at least, a vocal supporter of Tippo right to the end of last season, even when everyone else was bagging him.
