Hey there's a first - I've had a post deleted!!! :p

Oh dear don't tell me you had the hide to defend against a Sydney poster. If so don't worry, ive had it happen too.

Mods will allow the board to be trolled to high heaven but look out if you try and bite back.

This is what I'm worried about. Regardless of the outcome of this whole saga, something has gone very wrong, and it needs to be investigated, and the people who have put it into motion need to be dealt with. Perhaps that involves jobs being lost, perhaps not.

The problem is, the club has proven very willing to sweep incidents under the rug in the past, and without the facts entering the public arena, it would be very easy for them to simply say "well we can't discuss the full facts but this person will be remaining in his role."

I'm worried that we're not going to hear the full story and that there are people, still at the club, who are responsible for placing our club in this horrible situation that will still be there in the future.

And I still can't shake this nagging fear that we accepted a loss of draft picks just to protect the public reputations of our administrators. That would be unforgivable.
After hearing Chapman speak throughout this saga, I have a strong feeling everyone will know the full truth in just over a week. I've never heard a chairman so pissed off about mistruths getting reported in the media, which he will want to rectify as soon as he is allowed to.

He has never guaranteed Trigg's position either, not once.

Chapman seems like a very passionate Crows man, and one who is determined to not let this great clubs name get slandered over mistruths in the media.

I can't wait for next Friday.

LOL!! Well I'm obviously in fine company Peter J... Must have been calling them no s*c**l br**n *mb*c*les that did it... Sorry mods... Won't call them that again...

Seriously though, over the past few days the mods seem to be taking leaves out of the cops books... There never seems to be one around when you need one... ;)

Chapman has handled himself well publicly IMO in spite of being hamstrung by the lawyers limiting what he can say. He's come across as a strong leader who wants to protect his club's image while at the same time trying to do the right thing in clearing up all accusations against the club one way or the other.

You get the impression he'd like to strangle the Caro Wilson/Emma Quayle duo who clearly have made some outrageous accusations over and above those that have varying degrees of truth in them. He's definitely frustrated in that sense.

All the parties are meeting tomorrow to thrash out what's true and what's bullshit, so that the final hearing doesn't get bogged down by deteriorating into a shit fight over who said what and who did what. After tomorrow's meeting the AFL may withdraw some charges or at least recommend to the Commisssion hearing next week that they be withdrawn, while recommending penalties for those offences for which their findings are that we are guilty.

Given that the AFL appears to have been leaking information like a sieve to date, perhaps we will have a far better idea where we stand after tomorrow's meeting.

Was down at training today and Phil Harper popped down to have a chat with some of the regulars. Convo opened thusly:

Random: Hey Phil, how are ya?
Phil: Absolute shithouse

And you could see it too. Looked really stressed.

He then went and had a chat with some guys before coming back closer to where I was. Said the following to someone

"Bottom line, a bad, bad, bad deal was done. How am I in trouble? Well, 6 months in I have to execute it and by executing it, I'm in trouble"
This post deserves more attention. Really feel for Harper, sounds like a guy who got put in a horrendous situation by the club that employs him.

Did anyone hear Caro tonight, sounds like Harper might be in more shit than we thought. Something about putting panicky things in writing.
I've made myself stop listening to her until this saga is over. She sensationalizes things to the extreme. Only yesterday people were commenting that his charges were very weak and may well be dropped. Seriously, none of us have a ****ing clue at this point.

Us moderators have been around. We haven't been simply carding Sydney posters for coming on and having an opinion. When it's been over the line we've acted.

It's not that your post was deleted fairfooty - it's that the (Sydney) post you responded to was deleted. Not a lot of point deleting a post and then leaving replies that quote it alive.

Peter J - If you're unhappy with the way the forums are being moderated, you should send us a PM and we can discuss it rather than having a sulk on the public forums.

Shotties - I appreciate that you have done your best to respond calmly after your initial posts to jenny which were over the top. At this point though I don't think there is much for you to add here. I'd appreciate it if you would move on please.

If the rumours about a bunch of emails are true, he won't need to worry much longer.

But in any case, he has clearly come in late to a shit storm which wasn't of his doing. hard to say how differently any of us might have managed things if we were in same position

Actually come to think of it... having a post deleted must mean I'm a fully fledged BF poster! I'm sure it's a rite of passage...
I think my 3rd one was!

Damn! And here I was thinking I'd finally made it! Will have to try a bit harder... (Just joking Stabby!)

Again, seriously though, I think you guys are very (too?) tolerant. Its not about having an opinion, its the bullying-like way they express it - with some stand-out exceptions as ive said before. We'd seriously 'chat' anyone in our workplace who pursued another employee the way some of the Sydney posters have pursued ('abused'?) us over the last few days. And yes i do think the standards should be the same. But I suppose that's why you're a moderator and I'm not. :)

I don't see how the AFL can (could) justify allowing Kurt Tippett to be delisted by the club and then become a delisted free agent?

Basically allowing him to move to the Swans for free, that's basically saying the Crows were 100% guilt on all charges.

They're not going to allow him to become a delisted free agent because of the precedent it would set. It would mean any disgruntled player could become a free agent and any club could freely poach a disgruntled player simply by subverting the trade process as Sydney did.

Caroline Wilson confirmed as much on 5AA last night and her info comes direct from AFL House.

And don't we know it. How does anyone get a fair hearing here, with leaks like this Oh whoops... Forgot...your not supposed to....

Tippett not free to choose

KURT TIPPETT'S bid to move to the club of his choice as a delisted free agent has again been thwarted by the AFL.

Football operations boss Adrian Anderson late on Thursday rejected Tippett's attempt to take his case to the league's Grievance Tribunal before next Wednesday's deadline for nomination for the pre-season draft.
Tippett, who is holidaying in Bali and will not attend Friday's directions hearing at AFL headquarters, has told his management and his legal team he is not prepared to take his case to the Supreme Court.

it seems pretty clear her source is probably Adrian Anderson or someone close to him. the leaking may in some ways end up being a plus - all the damaging info has come out gradually. if it had all come out at the hearing with the Commission, it would have had a much larger impact.

Rowey and Cornsey had him on last night and were going to have a crack at him for the leaks, anyone hear it?

I just can't see Kurt putting a 4 year contract on his head and then risk going to GWS for 4 years. IMO he will nominate 2 and then go to Gold Coast.

By the way, I wonder what Bali is like by yourself

This is what I don't understand too!! We offered him a contract, he declined it. He heads to the draft like anyone else. If we hadn't tried to retain his services, then it might be a different story. He is just forcing himself to become a Free Agent. This sounds an awful lot like Draft Tampering in itself.
