I'm not sure if it is just on my browser but has anyone else noticed Tippett located at the bottom right hand corner in the Bigfooty background picture of every page of this (and every other )thread I read.....
Any chance a mod could change it for us ;)

PS What is Harry O'Brien doing to the other Crows player!! (Is it Porps??)
 
pretty sure we asked brisbane last year for Pick 8 and Polec and we got Told GTFO!

but Polec didn't have the best year only 12 games in a side that didn't play all that well.
Polec and Smith who we rated as relatively equal during draft time (Polec slightly ahead at the time).
Polec 15 career Games ave 12 disposals taken at pick 5. B.Smith 36 career games.... 22 this year in a top 4 side ave 17 disposals taken at pick 14
 
The way i see it it its no biggie on tippett leaving, as proven by Sydney last season, big forward lines dont win premierships & tippett leaving is a oppurtunity in disguise. If i was mr noble i would look to get a bank flanker like ryan okeefe for some solid experience in the backline to be with young guns talia & shaw. Crows still have one of the best lists in the AFL. huge cap space free now so why not use it?? Crows window is open for a flag with or with out tippett. I am more than confident in Noble & Sando. As Rendell said a few weeks ago, they recruited Jenkins for a back up for tippett if he left & its payed off. GO YOU CROWS!!

I agree, Tippett's true value is between pick 2 and 5 in this year's draft.

There is so much hype around the number 1 pick that no clubs would take the chance of losing the AFL's next superstar. After Whitfield there is no standout for number 2, would you take Grundy, Wines, Mayes, O'Rourke or Toumpas over Kurt? Only if you think you will not be contending for the finals for another 5 years.

Inother "news", Dumb has said again tonight that GWS would not pick Tippett over Whitfield if Tippett goes into the draft (there are two drafts you muppet) and Dumber floats the idea that Brisbane will offer Jack Redden and Pick 8 for Tippett.

Do these idiots know anything about how the AFL works?

It is seriously scary that these 2 are SA's main football media and they know so so little about how the AFL actually works and virtually nothing about football outside of South Australia. Their thoughts on the Port coaching position are laughable to say the least.

Are you serious? There is no way we are going to get a pick or player of this value in exchange for Tippett. Brisbane's pick #8 is a bit more realistic, and only because they seriously need a quick replacement for Jonathon Brown who probably has one year left.

He said his value is 2-5.. Never said we'd get 2-5.
 
People should just constantly one up the last rumoured trade rowey spouts out, eventually leading to Michael Jordan for Kurt Tippett. It's legit.
 
Tex Walker has just tweeted: Yeah KT has gone but it now opens up the door for someone else. Dont be bitter with the big fella just look forward to where the AFC are heading!! I'm bloody excited and we now open up a new page to the clubs future. Get on board or you'll miss out.

Not quite - I think the inherent value of something (Kurt, a house, a share) can and often does differ from its marketable value due to any number of other factors not the least of which is the negotiating position of the parties. In this case a slightly disadvantaged position may see us get slight unders versus his true value (~2-5 in the national draft).

My point Mighty Chinook is that if you had pick 5 would you take Kurt Tippett or Brodie Grundy? If you were in the race for the flag over the next 3 years you would take Tippett every time. As far as what we will actually get for Kurt, well I think most people know my thoughts on this.

I see where you're coming from, but your asset is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If I have a painting which I think is worth $800, but the best bid I have is $600, guess what? It's only worth $600

I'd take it if we weren't assured of getting Toumpas; if we were, he'd still be my preference.

That'd be a good outcome though, and is probably a touch more realistic ;)

Polec might be keen to come home this year, after an ordinary year this year; seeing one of his best mates carve up wouldn't hurt the attraction..

unless of course youre a free agent, i think Judd to carlton was sort of the tipping point for the draft/trade being controlled by the clubs to being controlled by the players
