Was thinking the same thing. If Sunny, Ivabigun and Supernova are typical of Suns supporters it's given me a much more positive view of the club. Their contributions among our 7,000+ posts (over two threads) has been most welcome.

Just out of interest, did you guys have other AFL clubs before the Suns came in?

If all trade threads had posters such as the above-mentioned Suns supporters, then the standard of the trade threads would be very high quality and readable.

Sydney being his preferred destination is GOOD news for the Crows, because they will have to come up with a decent trade (mnaybe even pay overs) because there is no way he will get there any other way.

Who knows, Tippett may just have been bad enough in that first final that the Swans dont actually realise he was out there.

I'd probably say yes. We could definitely use a player like Grundy. We're a bit low on experienced defenders.

By the sounds Tippett doesn't care where he goes as long as the money is right ......that said if Sydney offer $1M per season and a trade isn't done, then he goes into the draft with a nominated price of $1M

If another club picks him up b4 Sydney so beit ....he still gets the $1M per season - he's shown he doesn't care about which club

If that's the way Sydney read it as well, they'll be super keen to get a deal done, so he doesn't nominate into the draft

It would be tough on the premiership players to be traded ......but Adelaide have to get a player that fits the 3 types their chasing;
1. KPD
2. Outside midfielder
3. Ruckman

The only player that has the calibre and meets the Adelaide needs is Rohan

I would suggest Rohan and 2nd round pick ....thus leaving Sydney with their first round

No deal to be done and Sydney know he'll be picked up by a Carlton or even Freo who offered a $1M for Cloke
Sydney is probably the best outcome for us in terms of us being in the drivers seat on the deal ....and Sydney and Adelaide have a great trading relationship.

I know someone who knows Heath Grundys family and I can tell you he definately won't be coming to Adelaide. He dislikes the crows and the power for not drafting him originally, he loves living in Sydney and is very settled there. The family member said it definately won't happen.

Not interested in Grundy. Overated defender. Provides little run and is made to look good by a midfield that pushes deep into defence and creates congestion. Does not have enough heigh for Key position and is more a third tall.

There's no chance .....clubs own supporters always put players up they don't want ....it's just a fact of life

It's in the right direction, but does need a bit more to make it even IMO.

Grundy is a good solid player who would attract a 2nd round draft pick in his own right, while Sydney's first round draft pick would have been regarded as an early 2nd round pick in years gone by.

So Grundy and your first round draft pick is really equivalent to an early 2nd rounder and a mid 2nd rounder, which is just a bit light on IMO.

Perhaps adding your 2nd rounder in exchange for our 3rd rounder would round off the deal.

Having said all that, Adelaide might accept Grundy and your first rounder quickly if it was offered early in the piece, to enable them to move onto other trades that they have planned.

These deals always depend on your negotiating position .......the Gunston deal was bad but went through quickly because of a domino effect on our other trades

This deal if it's Sydney ....you're in a real crappy position (read my other post)

After winning a flag you must have a huge need for Tippett (I'm suggesting Goodes retirement potentially end next year 33YO - depends on his knees)

no deal ....goes to draft with $1M pricetag which would normally get him for you .....but as i said i suspect at least 2 clubs have the cash to match the deal and you'll lose him

No Lamb and 1st round simply will not cut it .......we know he's homesick and wants to return to Melb PLUS you do not trade unknown for class, that's a bad trade

What do you think of Johncock and our first round draft pick for Kennedy? Now I realise that midfielders are a dime a dozen and Kennedy doesn't get paid anywhere near what Tippett does but we are willing to leave a bit on the table.

Forget Rohan, players that break legs are always a risk going forward, and even if they fully recover it generally takes 2 years to get the strength in the leg back to pre-break condition, and I'm sure I read his break was on the high end of the scale. Good player no doubt but some risk definately involved. Nathan Brown ring any bells??? Michael Barlow has taken 2 years and only late in the season did he start to get back to something like his best. Luke Parker may not have Rohan's pace but he's shown plenty, he'd be on my radar. Neither replace Tippett but!!

Now how the hell is he going to get to Sydney? They've got shit picks, can't get him in the PSD, they will have to come up with some serious talent as a trade. Surely he must realise this.

They will need to trade one of their young stars either to adelaide or a draft pick. It will need to be one young star for an early pick and a second(ie the guy that was sub in final or Rohan) thrown in as well.

These are onballers and can be covered. Kurt is a Ruck / forward. Almost impossible to find and very few good ruckmen coming through.

Hang on ....by the time compo picks for Goddard are factored into this draft (and maybe others) ....Sydneys 1st pick could slide another couple of spots

This is just a bad trade ......it doesn't address our 3 areas of need ...it's simply taking whoever Sydney think is dispensible

We are in the drivers seat ......it has to be one of Sydney's untouchables for our untouchable (Tippett)

That's why he may be available .....and it was an ankle not his leg

Of course it all depends on a medical ....goes without saying

Look i love Parker .....but we have so many of his type and we have to be getting players in our 3 areas of need, otherwise why are we trading?
