Swans will have something to offer. Too professional to mske a 1m offer and not be ready to seal the deal at the trade table. It's just not as obvious as Brisbane.

Spot on. There would be plenty of players we would be interested in that we could bundle up or get a third or even fourth club involved

To be honest, I dont think Grundy and Sydney first pick is that far from reality.. A fringe player or a promising kid maybe?

We need a Key defender and Grundy does look like a 200 player to me. Just as Key forwards who can ruck are a premium today for some reason key defenders are aswell. Every club seems to need one and the only one available in Free Agency is Rivers who I would avoid like the plague... We simply can not challenge next year without another quality key defender and in 2 years with no Rutten we will be screwed.

what Brisbane was prepared to offer him this year, and with his concussions, is his value really greater than it was last year? Brisbane got pick 12 for Clark, and he kicked a similar amount of goals in 2011 to Tippett this year, playing a similar number of games. We said no to two of Polec/Redden/pick 8 last year, and I don't see how that's changed this year, except Tippett is now out of contract and has concussion issues.

EDIT: FWIW I still think Tippett will end up at GC, and this is all his manager's work to get GC's offer up. GC know he wants to go there, so are likely offering him the worse deal of all teams,

Clark kicked 27 goals last year and is still yet to break the 30 goals in a season mark. Kurt kicked 39 goals this year(from 21 games, 3 of which he was subbed out in early d/t concussion) and has previous hauls of 55 and 46. I'm happy to say you guys got screwed with Clark, I think he was probably worth a top 10 pick + steak knives, but to the point at which both have asked to be traded, Kurt has proven himself to be a higher level of talent and consistency.

My understanding is Kennedy is not yet signed.

If this is true, I think we should be looking at including a 3rd Victorian club and (western Bulldogs or Melbourne) still going for a top 5 draft pick for Tippett.

Kennedy is a great player but I don't see a need for him in our midfield. I think we can fill some of our more major needs by using a high draft pick.

Kennedy >>>> Western Bulldogs

Pick 5 >>>>>>> Adelaide

Tippett >>>>>>> Sydney.

IMO - that would suit everyone needs.

I think it is just you and a handfull of others Cap.... I have despised him for 3 months now.
Losing him will be the turning point for our club.. A united change room and money to invest.. The quality player we hopefully receive in compensation is just the bonus.. The most overrated player since Kosi and the Holland brothers
Come on.. Kurt this year kicked 4 goals against Gold Coast, 4 goals against GWS, 3 goals against Carlton when we smashed them and they have no big defenders, 5 against St Kilda (again, struggle for defenders + Blake went off injured that night too IIRC), 3 against Richmond and 3 against Melbourne.. Oh and 3 against Hawthorn (good ol' Schoenmakers :D)..

25 goals from those 7 games.. Nah he didn't beat up on the weak..

JPK is going nowhere.

I don't see where the Swans' motivation would be to trade their best player

I know Blucher is from Velocity Sports management team which is Alastair Lynch and Michael Voss' player management company. Pretty sure Vossy is a half partner with Lynch?

Hopefully Blucher doesnt want to anger his employer and gets it done with Brisbane. No offense Supe but at this stage I feel like Brisbane would be the better trade partner.

Sydney are a professional club and we have a good track record of actually working fair trades between our two clubs where neither tries to screw the other over, I'd have no worry that we wouldn't get an at least close to fair deal. The issue is, is that Sydney's success comes from as much their culture and quality coaching set ups, as it does talent. Take most of their players away from Sydney and I think they'd struggle, with a few obvious exceptions. They are quite a remarkable football club.

Yes. Sydney will definitely trade its best clearance player who average high20's to 30 possessions and kicks at least a goal a game :/

Yeah, doesn't make sense and I'd think the Swans would demand more than just pick 5. Unless for some reason he's keen to move back to Melbourne or something and the Swans have kept it on the DL, would explain why the Swans suddenly have an extra Million dollars to play with...

Don't Brisbane also?

Nah, we lost ours after Eddie had a massive whinge when we beat them in two straight grand finals. Worth it :D

I got my facts off, my bad. I don't think there's much doubt that at the time, Tippett is a much better forward. However Clark was a near AA ruckman, therefore offers flexibility if Jamar went down as he could ruck the whole game and be very competitive. Yet we still got only pick 12. It shows that you don't always get what players are worth, which is just as likely to happen to Tippett

None offence taken at all, I can only hope :)

Probably the best hypothetical to trade with is Brisbane...but a different story as to what all the relevant parties actually offer in reality.

That and a couple of club legends retired recently clearing a heap of cap space.

So I'm a bit confused, is Tippett nominating his preferred club today?
He's nominating his favourite night club. He's waiting to see who will give him free ciders, but it has to be within walking distance of his home.

I seriously doubt it mate...I got a premiership tattoo on my foot, but even if I switched clubs I reckon I'll still be proud of that. My money is on Hannebery also being proud of his premiership also

It was one of the best netball finals I have ever seen, I'm glad you got the Tatt to remember it :D:D:D
