Just a bit more info:
Kurts manager has told AFC that they were happy with the financial package offered.
The reason why Kurt wants to go to Sydney or Queensland is that he was sick of all the media attention and wants to play somewhere where he gets little media/public attention. The final straw was the way he was treated by the media/public over his concussion issues.
He also believes NSW/Queensland lifestyle is more to his liking.

If he'd committed and signed early he wouldn't have got any public attention. As for the concussion focus, he didn't like us undermining his shopping expedition by devaluing his worth. Could he be the Israel Folau of Sydney, overpaid and unsighted.

Faith, if that's true that we haven't offered a contract does it mean we aren't interested at all? Or are Tippett's management waiting on clarification on our offer?

Solidly built, probably slows him down a bit, I expect to see him trim down a little over the pre-season. best suited as a tagger, best thing about him is his younger brother, GUN playing for Broadbeach and killing it. I think Mav will make it as an AFL player but this comming year will be critical.

Nothing on Foxtel...just Round 4 replays of 2012. I'd imagine it would be a 5 min press conference anyway, so probably more likely to be cut from Foxsportsnews for an "urgent" bulletin

Well if they got him in the PSD then he'd be playing for GWS, PSD is after trade week...

The REAL real danger is that GWS have put a massive contract to Tippett, he actually wants to go there, and all of this hesitation bullshit is a part of a long term stonewalling strategy to ensure that Adelaide can't make a trade deal, thus leaving Tippett to walk unhindered to the Giants via the PSD.

I can't see this happening to be honest. If they had put a massive contract to him, and Kurt was keen, they'd probably just approach us and ask they can take him as a second uncontracted player to ensure they get him. It's not like they'd be the ones compensating us in that scenario, and if it were a huge contract, we'd be compensated quite well by the AFL. GWS would be weary of trying to absolutely screw over other teams IMO. The tables will be turned before long, and every club in the league will be trying to pillage their list, so I think they'd rather maintain a reasonable relationship with other teams for when that happens, to try and secure fair trades for outgoing players.

Pick 8, or Pick 8 + O'Brien would be my best guess.
There are also rumours that Banfield might be involved, but not sure how.

He played a total of 2 games for the team that finished 13th, and managed a combined total of 10 disposals in those two games, which would suggest to me he was the sub. Aside from him being from SA, what makes you think we'd be the slightest bit interested in getting him? We already have several midfielders performing well in the SANFL who couldn't get a run in the seniors.

Doesnt this whole saga piss you off.

Whilst I understand that clubs will try to minimise their outlay during a negotiation I would have thought that it was in the best interest of all clubs to play the trading game "fair". If every club goes done the path of using the PSD and threaten to use it so no payment is made is this really being smart. All the clubs will be aware of "what goes around comes around". Credibility is paramount not only between clubs but also between player and club. Would a player consider himself "well looked after" if his club did underhanded deals.

Perhaps I am being a little niave but I am not convinced that any clubs will band to gether just to rip off Adelaide because it could hurt them in the future. Please dont tell me that this is the "trade period" and anything goes. I still like to feel ethics amd morals are in vogue
