The following phrases should be banned by opposition posters:

  1. You'll get nothing
  2. Jesse White
  3. Jed Lamb
  4. Only a 2nd rounder
Insta card!
I think the jury's still out on Lamb, maybe as a sweetener, but I agree with the other 3.

Why hasn't this troll been handed a red card as per the rules stated at the beginning of this thread? Do this on any other board and watch the card come instantly through the message system.

What are we going to do as a club if Sydney DO offer that sort of trade? Red card the Sydney Football Club?

I don't like it as much as the next guy, but a manifestly inadequate trade is very realistic possibility and we need to prepare our response. Just because you don't want to hear it, doesn't it make it any less realistic.

Surely I'm not the only one that wishes to punch Blucher in the face?

He better not be managing any of our other players
The line stretches from here to Kurt's home on the Gold Coast.. I mean Sydney..

Speaking of this, has anyone seen what this tosser looks like?

I am sure no one wants to hear this but I am pretty sure it wasnt "home" it was "the club of his choice".

Very shrewd of them to put it that way.

That technically means any club, depending on what he chooses, though at the time, home was implicit.

Translated, in light of all info available in hindsight it is "help him to leave you!" funny and sad but true

No, Blucher says its was to the Club of his choosing.

When Reid and Trigg did agree to re-contract Tippett in 2009 they also vowed to look more favourably on trade deals once Tippett opted to return to Queensland.

As has probably been stated many times (i'm not going to read 140 odd pages), I would let Tippett walk if Sydney insult us at the trade table. I do worry though, that all other clubs with picks before Sydney in the Pre Season Draft, would avoid picking him up because of his price tag, and he would end up there anyway. Nevertheless, the deceptive, disrespectful way he has conducted himself has given me clarity. We are better off without him, and he will be the downfall of Sydney. I wouldn't wish him upon Gold Coast or Brisbane at this point. The $1 million per year (which is probably almost entirely a handout from the AFL for the 'high cost of living') deserves to go to the likes of Jetta, LRT, Hannebury, A.Johnson, Richards and others. They ARE that club, and should rightfully be seething if Skirt waltzes in and pockets what is effectively the bonus for winning the premiership. Disgraceful.

Blutcher is a dodgy bastard. It's OK to always do the best thing for your client but he is stepping over the line with this one and I hope we make him pay.

The Gentleman's Agreement was obviously centered around going "home".

Blutcher is now trying to claim that Sydney is "home" to put pressure on the Crows to honour the Gentleman's Agreement, he even had Tippett trying to say it was "home" in his press release.

That's dirty business because all parties to that agreement know that "home" is the Gold Coast/Brisbane area.

If it were me I'd go pretty hard at them for being so shifty and cocky, particularly by putting it through the media and trying to apply pressure that way. He's a dirty businessman, if I could even call him that.

How do you interpret what is the "best thing" for the player. Its not always the biggest pay packet. The way I see it is that whilst Blucher thinks he has just done the deal of his life in fact he has put himself and Tippett in an ackward position. Blucher should have known that Sydney would struggle to satisfy Adelaide. There is a real possibility that this deal wont go through. If that happens both Blucher and Tippett will have to go crawling back to CG or Brisbane after having said they prefer Sydney which is similar to saying I dont want to be at GC or Brisbane. And if a deal cant be done between the Crows and the two QLD clubs then its possible that Tippett will be forced to GC. All of this simply puts egg on their faces.

What would the cost be to Adelaide if we dont get a deal done with Sydney?? Well if Sydney are only going to offer Pick 22 and they dont budge then we stand to lose pick 22. As a crows supporter I would be prepared to give that up and let Tippett go to PSD.

Reality is Sydney want Tippett. How badly do they want him? Well $1m a season tells me "they really want him bigtime". This tells me they will find a way to satisfy Adelaide. Sure they wont give us the world but they will come to the party. If they dont they will lose something that they want "bigtime". So I think everyone should calm down a little and have some faith in how Adelaide plays this out. Adelaide knows we are all watching them as well. They know we are already pissed off.

That may be the case and the AFC can still play these negotiations to their own advantage (we hope). Now he has chosen his destination he has no control over how this is achieved. He may well end up hated in both clubs in the short term depending on what they have to give up and how his pay rate unsettles the players. Bon voyage

Wellingham wants to go home to Perth. He wont stay in Melbourne.

No, he wants a better financial deal from Collingwood. I don't think I've read anywhere that he's said he's home sick, just wants a better deal. If a Melbourne club places a contract on the table to meet his needs, he will stay in Victoria.

At this stage, the WCE have offered a deal to meet his financial demands.

Had my 5yo birthday yesterday and finally caught up. (took out the trash, thanks for the reports)
we had an awesome pinata that I printed and taped pictures of kurt to, good times.

In all seriousness I believe we erred massively back in 09. I really want to know what was said and agreed to back then.
If he didn't want to be here I am super annoyed we tried so hard to convince him to stay. Its cost us big time.

As carl has said before, we put all or eggs in the 2010 basket and it cost us big time. Looks like its still costing us.

As far as trading goes, in noble we trust.

Funny, I thought I read somewhere that he definitely wanted to go home. Perhaps it's one of those well written articles by journalists that do their homework.

Yes well that was John Reid for you. ;)

Just reading a couple of the articles on the AFL website quoting Tippett's manager from his interview with SEN. No wonder everyone is peeved. I like this one:

"Obviously he made that decision and I've got to tell you it was a very, very hard decision in itself … it's very hard to look in the eyes of teammates who you've just played a preliminary final with - they were a whisker away from playing in a Grand Final - and say, 'I'm leaving'."

Didn't he just send a text message?

And then the veiled threats that Sydney could get him for pick 22. Well, Adelaide can tell them to get stuffed.

I liked Tippett as a player, but the more you see the more you think Adelaide are better off without him anyway. Surprised of all the clubs he is going to it is Sydney as well. Didn't think they'd put up with someone of his ilk.

Adelaide probably have to step back "unemotionally" and get the best deal they can and then move on with what they have. I feel Adelaide will be stronger in the coming years regardless.

I dont really understand your point, but to further reiterate mine.....

But at the end of the day there is an understanding that the Crows will do their utmost to get him to the club of his choice and we also understand that things need to be commercially viable.

Those bashing the manager should remember that EVERY SINGLE MANAGER is an absolutely disgusting human being....whilst doing his job. They may be nice at home or round a barby....but David Cloke, Liam Pickering, Judd's manager, Ricky Nixon are professional scum who will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get the best deal for their client....and if that includes having every afl ceo/manager/fan hate them then they'll wear it.

Actually scrub Nixon from that list we know for a fact that he is also a horrible human being outside of the deal table. :-)

We are not bound. We owe him nothing. His manager will have no impact on Phil and David. We will do what's best for the AFC which will be pick22 plus a player of some description whether it be from Sydney or elsewhere. No angst required.

he hasnt said that he is homesick however he has requested a trade to WCE

Ever since the clause rumors came out I was really worried what reid did to go putt looking like a hero.

Blucher is being a massive arseh*le but it sounds like we set ourselves up for misery from the start. We obviously knew he never wanted to be here long term, bent over backwards to get him to stay against his true desires, favored him over developing walker as the priority and imo can't really complain too much that it bit us in the ass.

Yeah, If I played for the biggest club in the country, I'd want to move states as well.

I'd imagine it would be very hard moving from Collingwood to any other Victorian based club, especially Melbourne. The lure of playing in front of 60,000 plus people every week would be very appealing and then moving to a club that get 25,000 - yeah no thanks. That's why the journalist put 2 and 2 together and came up with him moving to West Coast or Fremantle and I don't doubt he's said he'd want to move to West Coast but I still don't believe this is his only option.

However, if a club offered me the money, that would be the clincher. Wellingham move stated because Collingwood could not offer him a contract worth his market value. If he is home sick, I will stand correct but I still believe it's money.

How does Goodes & Co feel about Kurt becoming the highest paid player in a premiership team?

Didn't the Crows offer Kurt the biggest contract in the club's history to keep him at West Lakes? Was this fair given the way he was playing? How did Danger feel about it? Out of curiosity, what was the relationship like between Crows players and Tippett?
