Now that Trigg has said that he stopped the deal last week I can't see anyway that he would accept it now, he would look rediculous. Especially as he obviously stopped it because of public opinion. I think now it is either a deal with Brisbane, GC, GWS or the PSD. Long odds for Sydney I think.
If he stopped the deal to ask Sydney to pay the first year of White's contract as was reported, that would/could be why.. A financial compensation for such a shit trade in other words, seeing as they won't trade anything of half decent value..

Rough on us still but better then Syndeys offer!

Brisbane wont give up pick 8 for white and average picks.
This, why would Brisbane give up a great pick or a potentially great player for a spud player and worse picks, Sydney wants white gone and white wants to go, brisbane wouldnt give up anything of value if their key benefit was JW

Fair enough, I hadn't heard that. Why would we want White's contract paid by Sydney? we would have $800,000 freed up and Sydney would be right on the limit.

Would deal directly with Sydney if we wanted White.

Absolutely no need for us to get Polec involved in that deal. If Polec is homesick, I'd hold onto him, let him show his value in 2013 after his first full pre-season and then let you and Port fight for him next year if he still wanted out.

Not if we're forcing Sydney's hand mate.

They circumvent us and go direct to you, we tell them the Tippett discussion is over.

I don't think we rate White enough to care that much to be honest. All we have is Rucci saying we are interested. Hardly the most credible source.

Stefan Martin has a meeting with the Lions at the Gabba today. If that goes well, the "White to Brisbane" thing will be over before it started.

I'd guess it's the fact the trade is so lopsided, the club want something extra out of it..
You're not going to say no to someone paying his salary if they will..
That's aside from if we should be accepting the deal anyway though..

Is there any reason Tiplett is so hell bent on Sydney and has refused to talk to anyone else?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is my guess, If the other East coast clubs could match/want to match his salary terms don't see why he wouldn't consider them.

It baffles me why he wouldn't want to go to GWS, I mean he can still live in Bondi and travel 40 mins to Blacktown for training.

Seriously 500 pages devoted to a player you're losing. The big question that should be dominating your board is how you're going to replace him. Lose a KPP and you still expect to finish top 4 without trying to bring in some additional talent. That should be taking up 500+ pages.
That's because we all know what the options are within our list, and they are very positive. We don't need to discuss it, it started taking shape this year.

Read Matt Rendell's article - our team traded last year with the assumption that Tippett was going. We already have the KPPs needed to structure up - choice, even. That's why there's not a great deal of interest in Jesse White. We believe he would be #5 in line behind Jenkins, Johnston, Lynch and McKernan (in strictly alphabetical order :D). And all of those have already played successfully for the AFC.

We don't have a gaping hole in our forward line, its just not going to be as brilliant (possibly - there are some, including Rendell, who believe it will be better without Tippett). Don't forget we already have a contender for the 2013 Coleman in Tex in our forward line. Henderson or Shaw can both play forward as well.

And that's just considering the talls! The smaller forward fleet is considered as good as any team's.

You seem to be bemused that we would consider risking nothing, rather than taking what you offer. Understood, and usually it would be the correct call. But you need to actually look at where the AFC will be on Draft day, if no further trade action happens.

We already have pick 20. We only have 2 vacancies on our list we can fill. And we have good rookies, one of whom was upgraded for the second half of the season. We don't have a desperate need for a second pick, we can leave a spot for a nominated rookie, we did this year.

It's not ideal, but Sydney's current offer does not change it much. Particularly if we have to take the player as well as the pick. Then we must delist a player that we still want. With respect to Jesse White, is he more useful to us than Richard Tambling? 119 AFL games, 11 for the Crows, drafted by Richmond at #4 in 2004, B&F for Sturt in the SANFL for 2012. Yet if we have to delist another player Tambling is the next in line - that's how deep our list is.

What do people think of jed lamb? Pick 21 in 2010, yet to make his debut. Would he have any currency in a trade, either to us or in a three team trade?

happily admit i havent watched much of brisbane this year but my understanding was he was limited due to injury but what he did show was good. brisbane fans seem to rate him highly

I did rate him as high as some in the draft and still don't.
Think he is too outside, happy to get Smith in that draft.

To a point Brisbane have to be realistic with Polec too. Yes he was 5th pick 2 years ago........ doesn't mean he retains that value. I know injuries have hindered some of his development but from what i've seen of him, and I have probably seen 70% of his games, his valued would have decreased.
This year I'd say his value is a late 1st round pick aka 19-23. Any other year an early second round pick. He is also a midfielder. Good midfielders are a dime a dozen.

IMO if it was a straight swap of Tippett for Polec we would still be getting reamed. However if it was Polec + 8 for Tippett we would be favored but not as much as brissy would be by a straight swap.
