A predictable (and infuriating) ending to what has been an absolutely sickening saga from the get-go. Those responsible still at the helm. Well done to the AFL also, you really showed Kurt who's boss..

It is disgusting that this cheating grub has been allowed to get exactly what he wanted, he will now be paid twice what he is worth as the reigning premier is the only club that could afford him. Just a disgusting outcome. bring on round 14 as I will be stirring up the Suns BF supporters to throw as much vitriol towards him as possible.

People there will comes time in future where both clubs will need to retain their stars or attract a key recruit, one club won't be servetly restricted by cap issues the other will have a significant portion of their cap invested into the one player

I agreed with this argument when it was going to be a 4 year deal.

But now the Swans are only locked in for 2 years. His salary isn't going to be an issue for next year's list, obviously. It could impact on the 2014 contracts, but his contract is front-loaded, apparently, and there's a bunch of highly-paid Sydney players on the cusp of retirement. Plus I think most young Sydney players are contracted to the end of 2014, though I may be wrong about that.

What is going to stop other players looking at what Kurt has done and not do the same??? I feel he might of just started a trend of players holding clubs for ransom.....

Nothing and it's been going on since trading started.

Darren Jarman said to Hawthorn - only trade me to the Adelaide Crows. How is that any different, other than we ended up with a positive outcome. Brett James, Matthew Clarke, Scott Thompson, Brad Symes all gave their former club one option to trade them to. The difference is, we were able to generate a equal trade between the clubs involved.

Tippett did what everyone else does, the difference in the case was the agreement to trade for a second round pick. Yes it was allegedly squashed by Trigg but nothing was ever put in place on paper.

Ball said the same, Stevens said the same, Stengline, Gunston - it happens all the time. The difference is, clubs are not STUPID to agree to a trade for a second round pick.

In your eyes they are 100% in the wrong because it affects you and your club.. Why was Kurt Tippett found/pleaded guilty and suspended? Oh.. His player manager did nothing wrong? Oh.. If they said no, this doesn't happen either.. You're simply trying to have it one way..

Because he was part of it, but it should never have reached that point.

As soon as Steven Trigg found out, he needed to go to the AFL and make that deal null and void and pay the price. Sack Reid, renegotiate Tippett deal or trade him to the GC.

END OF STORY.

Exactly, 9/10 times when a player nominates one club they get there. Difference being the club usually has to give something up to make it happen. Our own stupidity cost us a decent draft pick or two in a trade, plus others as punishment. Let's just hope it never happens again.

Time to close thread

Tippett wad always going to get to Syd, today's confirmation is just promoting old ground that has been coveted

Honestly, I cheered for Sydney to win the GF this year, even went to the mcg to join in the celebrations. Bought a poster and all. Now? I'd struggle to even muster an ounce of interest for Sydney which saddens me. They were one of the first teams I ever saw live (south Melbourne v Carlton) in 1979, so I've always had a soft spot. Now I hope their greed in trying to (and now achieving) get him for next to nothing, turns around and bites them in the arse. May both Sydney and Kurt Tippett implode under the cancerous stench his selfishness permeates. I don't think sydney supporters have a clue what's about to hit them.

The way you carry on, you honestly believe Kurt was staying if it wasn't for the Swans?

This is the same person who insisted/agreed to a clause in an amended agreement to trade him to the club of his choice for a second round pick? No one who has this agreement was ever going to stay. In all my time in watching football, I've never heard of an agreement like this.

That alone suggest to me, he was never staying. Add that to the fact he was in negotiations with the GC and Brisbane adds weight to him leaving.

Blame Sydney or even Kurt all you like but we all know who ****ed this deal up and they won't have a Sydney jumper on next year.

So Tippett had signed a 4-year deal with the Swans prior to all this happening. Now he's specified 2-years in his PSD specs. Does that mean he has a gentleman's agreement with Sydney for years 3-4?

bloods culture is here to stay...

When you consider a Bloods culture is used to detect the presence of bacteria or yeasts, which may have spread from another site in the body...Then yeah!!!.... Seems that they have picked up a Kurt Tippett infection...:p

Well - thats that.

KT gets to Sydney for nothing like many players before him.

Adelaide move on and have a great 2013.

Hindsight will be the only way to see who wins and who loses here ... and yes I know that we have lost stuff already ... but it might be a blessing in the long run. It's a funny game Football.

What a thread.

Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night

To Kurt: Enjoy your 900k a year. You thought the pressure of kicking straight was tough in Adelaide, imagine having a team of players paid less then you that are fighting to get the ball to you... and then you reward them with a point. The pressure is going to be immense.

To Sydney: Enjoy your cost of living allowance and blood culture while it lasts.

To Blucher: Have fun representing X-factor stars from now on.

To Everyone: It's been emotional.

Karma will come back and bite the Swans firmly on the bum. Tippett is not a footballer's bootlace and you have him for close to a million a year. :thumbsu:

Well actually they don't.

In the end , I think I read it will work out to be something like $650,000 a year. $1,300,000 over 2 years. Very similar to what he was ion with us.

I think it was $950,000 for year one, to get to Sydney and then $350,000-$400,000 for year 2. Then they will renegotiate a salary.
