Dishlick 3
Rusty 3
Inrest 2 - but great review none the less
LFG - 2
YG T- 2
Sid - 1 (where picking the winners not losers here Sid :))

My tips for the final round -
Last round of the year and 5th spot is up for grabs with both Kinglake and Belgrave stuck together on the ladder. Not much seperates these sides in % so even if they lose the margins could be a factor.

King v TE - Thornton are starting to hit form at the right time of year and with Kinglake having Gallichio and Styles out last week if they don't play this week it will be difficult to see them win. I think Thornton will be to good. Thornton 55pts

Alex v Bel - Should be a good game this with Belgrave needing to win to play finals. They have been in good form but so have Alex who keep getting the job done. Saw them last week and Marcus Hill I would say is one of the best players going around in Divvy 2 he was excellent. Anyway I think Belly will give a good showing but Alex at home will be to good. Alex by 20pts

Seville v YJ - Seville to end YJ horror year with another loss. Seville 64pts

Powelly v YG - YG will win but powelly will give a good account in what's been a hugely improved season well done. YG 40pts

Emerald v Yea - Emerald will be looking to get some momentum up for finals after last weeks loss and Yea might be the unlucky ones. Emerald 95pts

Good luck all I will be heading to Emerald this week to see them bounce back

My tips in bold

My tips for the final round;
Thornton Eildon who would like to win heading into finals. Kinglake will be desperate to ensure a finals spot.
Emerald to end Yea's first year in the league. The Tigers have been a great addition and will only improve.
Seville to finish a horror year for the Eagles who have slipped badly.
Yarra Glen over Powelltown who have had a terrific year and have been very competitive and this resulted in three wins.
Alexandra over Belgrave in the game of the round. The Magpies are in with a big chance.

did 2nd division have a top 5 last season or is this the first year?

There was top 5 last year as well in divvy 2
My selections for this week are:

TE v Emerald - Should be a good opener for the finals this game with the winner getting a crack at Alex and a place in the Grand Final. These sides only met 2 weeks ago and Thornton were winners by 3 goals. That was at Thornton where they play very well. I've got a feeling that Alex will suit Emerald a bit better and there runners will have to be right on their game. Their talls were well held by Thornton last time and will need to get amongst the goals this week of they are to have a chance. Thornton will look to stifle emeralds run with their bigger bodies and are more than capable than kicking a big score. I think with the finals experience and a full strength side that the reigning premiers might just get over E merald who will run and challenge all day. Thornton 3pts

YG v Kinglake - Another good game with the loser of this gone for the year. YG have been in solid form all year with only Alex and TE having the edge over them while Kinglake have been a bit inconsistent but on their day have been good. Once again the key for YG is Selkrig, Kinglake will be thinking if he is held to under 5 goals they are a very strong chance while YG might be thinking the same about Gallichio. Good contest with the key forwards being the key and with 1 win a piece against each other this year it will be another close on. YG 10pts

Good luck all

Thanks for the review!!

Both games should be crackers!

I'm tipping Thornton-Elidon and Yarra Glen, full credit to Kinglake for their first season in the YVMFL and I might be wrong but I don't think most people expected them to make the finals.

My selections for this week are:

TE v Emerald -

YG v Kinglake - l

Good stuff in2restedonlooker :thumbsu:

Thornton - got to stay with Pup and Rosy3

Yarra Glenn v Kinglake? - i like the Lakers chances in this game. Well at least they have a 50% chance anyway :p A grinding win against TE in the last round of H & A is a good set up I think.

And then there were 3 - That will be the scenario by about 5pm on Sunday with 1 team gone and 1 safely into the big one. Once again 2 great games that are very even. No real selected sides on website so I will assume that all players are available????

Emerald v Yarra Glen - Sudden death game between these 2 sides in what shapes as an intriguing battle. Seen Emerald last week against Thornton and they would be dissapointed with their game while Yarra Glen just got over Kinglake thanks to another haul by that man Selkrig. Once again he is the key to this match and if he is kept quiet it will help emerald go along way to winning while YG will look to stifle Emeralds run. Emerald looked good rebounding off half back last week but were killed on the turnover as they played a bit loose. Emerald will need tall forwards Mather, Gough and Cusworth to have good games and kick a score with McCombe and Stewart being left to do to much last week and their midfield will need to push back hard to support the backline as for YG they will get plenty of drive out of the middle with the likes of Ratten and Moate and will try to isolate Selkrig one on one where he is at his best. YG shut down Emerald at Emerald for a win. A very hard game to pick as Emerald have the run and on their day are extremely hard to beat while YG have been consistent all year have the bigger bodies and of course Selkrig. I'm tipping YG mainly because like thornton they have the bigger bodies and I can't see a good match up from Emerald for Selkrig. YG 8pts

Alex v TE - Huge game and if it were played at Alex or Thornton there would be a record crowd. I'm not exactly sure but I would say it's been a long time since these 2 have faced off in a final in the seniors and it should be a cracker. Thornton outplayed Emerald last week in a perfect lead up to this match and will only be better this week while Alex have had the benefit of a week off to get everyone cherry ripe for this game. Key players for Alex will be Hill and the 2 Oakleys while for TE it will be Parker, Chapman and Fisher. Should be a free scoring type of game with both sides having multiple avenues to goal and both backlines will have to work extremely hard. The midfield will be the key with the Oakleys, Jack and Conheady up against the likes of Fisher, Chapman and Andrews. Seen Thornton last week and they were good I think without being great which is a good sign for them Parker was BOG in my book and others to mention were Maher whos 1 percenters and defensive efforts on H/F were excellent and Chapman who kept running and trying all day while I seen Alex a few weeks ago against YG and Hill was superb along with Jack and Collard. The 2 CHF I think will play abig role in this game, they play different styles with Parker roaming far and wide and setting up play while Hill is more a traditional CHF. Whoever gets the jobs on these guys will need to be right on their game. Anyway again a hard game to tip with Alex having had a great year and will look to go straight in but I'm tipping Thornton as I think there were signs there last week that they might be about to hit their straps and when they do they are the best team in the comp. Hard to tip as I would like to see who runs out but for me T/E 16pts

THUNDER
ALEXANDRA

Good luck 2 the u/18s for the THUNDER this week, played an awesome game last week in smashing Seville who until Sunday seemed to have the wood on them. Pity Emerald will probly only be able to field 16 a side as im sure they will fill the seniors with u/18 eligable players...wonder how the rest of their young blokes feel about being left to fend for themselves?

Admittedly i havent seen much of Selkrig this year but he was comprehensively smashed one on one in the last game of the year when a crippled 34 year old was moved onto him.

Coller right shoulder injury get stuck into it ???????????

wish you were playin id put my right shoulder into your mouth. and even though swallowing is your specialty you couldnt handle how much there is of it.

Hey Pup,

you're a club leader and just genuinely better than that. Let that stuff go and concentrate on your side and achieving what really counts. People are always trying to knock others down. Particularly from behind a computer monitor.

Get the job done mate and there'll be no comebacks from our superhero friend.

Cheers

Timmy
