thoughts...

Hawks I'd agree with..

As for that other disgusting entity... i hope not... if Carlscum win i can see more stuff around this place being smashed

I'm leaning the other way. Tipping the favourites didn't get me far enough in the home and away rounds, so why not go for the slight underdogs in the finals?

I don't trust Hawthorn's form and the Kangaroos, surely, are too good not to fight back. Kangas to triumph, but god knows what the margin will be.

I'm not tipping Brisbane for any logical reason...but tipping them nonetheless. Injuries and a lack of fitness to hurt Carlton, with the result possible similar to last week.

I don't know what my margins are because I can't access the AFL website. I guess Thursday night is too late to change one's tips.

a continuation of an older thread: but I cant beleive the amount of people tipping the hawks.I think the Roos will smash 'em by 6-7 goals, despite hawthorns "spine" (do we ever hear about any other teams "spine" ????).
I also reckon the Lions will beat Carlton, but after watching Vossy on The FS tonite, im a little jittery on that one. He seemed to already be making excuses for a loss- which I think is a bad sign. Kinda like how every player/coach who has said before playing the bombers this year "we have nothing to lose" also seems to be a sure sign of being blown away.

anyway, as far im concerned, this week of footy is irrelevant.

giddy up !!

A.

PS- dutchy: the scum/lions game could well decide our battle eh ??? or are we going on the (ugh) points system???

BOMBERS REIGN SUPREME.

Arch

Nothing would make be smile more broadly (well maybe one or two things) than the Baggers going out in straight sets (again) and re-affirming their status as "the team, that always lets you down". And this may still happen.

But I've hedging my bets. If they win well at least I got the tip right, if they lose I can live with a footy tip followign a good start last week. Fair logic?

Re: North, normally I'd tip them by that margin too but given the battering they got and injuries to Martyn and Carey and the ineffectual work by Judas last week, I can't seem them getting up against a Hawk side that, whilst not consistent, can play good footy and is coming home with a wet sail.

Be just as happy to get both wrong... the real deal is next week and the week after.

Dutch

PS. We got by winners.

Take a look in the papers, most are tipping the Kangas. But none cn give a good reason Shehan "they deserve to win" Why. "Been too good for too long" "Hawks will struggle at night at the MCG (like in the winter when we towelled them by 10 goals)

But I believe it will be very close, So I'm wishing The hawks the best of luck

And the Hawks inconsistent ? Four wins in a row, after 2 seasons straight winning the last five.

Carlton and Brisbane ? History and HGA says the Blues, setting up a horror PF for both them and Essendon

GF ? Melbourne v Essendon.

North to beat Hawthorn cos the hawks are pretty boys and dont like it hard ie Dixon,Harford,Woods etc.. and then North to beat Melbourne and shove it up you lot who have written us off.
Carlton to beat the lions cos Matthews and Ashcroft have been mouthing off how stuffed and slow Carlton are..dumb move.. that crap always comes back to bite you and will only fire carlton up..besides I want carlton to get through and play Essendon and see what tactics they employ..are they interested in beating Essendon so will Kouta play and gives Essendon fans nightmares..or will Fraser Brown be selected so they can just go
the bash on essendon and try and f@$k up a few of their players for the GF..I sometimes
get the feeling carlton and their criminal president are more interested in beating Essendon or screwing them up rather than winning the flag..seemed that way last year.

North to beat Hawthorn in a very close match. We have experience but the Hawks have youth and enthusiasm....if the Hawks get a run on in the 2nd half, then they're capable of blowing North away. But the Hawks have a habit of overdoing the possession which leaves a chance for the likes of King, Pickett, Archer, Bell, and Stevens to force enough errors to hurt their confidence. Hum....too close to call.

Lions vs Carlton....hum....I'm leaning towards the Lions simply because they're more capable of doing something extraordinary. The centre square battles will be worth watching....McDonald, Ashcroft, Voss, and Black vs Allan, Bradley, Camporeale and Ratten....geeze...it's a tough one to split. Between the two though, I'd prefer a Lions win because they're a far more entertaining team to watch than Carlton and besides, it'll make it easier to get prelim tickets for Arch when he visits Melbourne next week.

Hawks to beat the Roos by 17
and
Blues to beat the Lions by 11.

BUT, knowing the way I pick, it wouldn't surprise me if the Hawks and Blues get bloody flogged!!
