Shut up.

The kid is a gun. Kicking is not always great but he builds his game around his in and under style and is one of our most valuable. Proved today, with 41 possessions, that anyone who doubts his ability as an AFL footballer is a douche.

Oh yeah, and I guess you've been wrong about him too Wallsy. Go play in traffic ****wit.

Don't listen to Walls. He doesn't actually pay attention to our progress. He just sits at home and faps over Carlton and Brisbane pics.
Always loved Jobe he was really friendly when I met him, has a really calm demeanor too.

Couldn't agree more, well said. Has been consistent throughout his term at Essendon, I remember at one stage last year he had been averaging 27 or so disposals over a 10 game period, yet only getting 65% of game time. One of the best hard, in and under players in the comp. Absolute freak.

Theirs no doubt his a very important player, i'm not a hater, i just think sometimes his disposal (normally kicking) can let him down at times. 41 touches today though, an essential part of why we won, and as for Walls, i second your statement

Let's be honest. Jobe still needs to develop his passing; just give the coach time to develop his skills. He's young and plays with a lot of heart. He is already a must have for our side, and there is plenty of upside in his game. Same with Leroy and Reimers. These guys will start tearing sides apart next year.

jobe's kicking has been on the improve this year, still capable of the horror clanger, but thats part of the package

i can only recall 1 bad kick last week & none yesterday, so getting better by the minute it would appear

we would be getting slaughtered in the midfield without jobe &, to a lesser extent, welsh which is a very pleasant surprise, almost like a new recruit, our welshy:thumbsu:

most people haved questioned his ability to kick under any pressure not his ability to find the ball or if he's up to AFL standard as a player(he clearly is).

The boys on Triple M yesterday said he had a game high 82% disposal efficiency too. Not bad for a guy who supposedly can't kick, good to see some very promising signs of improvement.

Yeah.

I'm not a hater, but do get very frustrated with his poor kicking.

But as far as someone who can go in and get the footy, and fire out some pretty amazing handpasses, he is required in the Essendon side!

His kicking isn't poor. Why do people keep saying this? For the most part it is pretty good but he occasionally does a really bad kick. His is one of the more efficient kicks in our team.

He does have the tendency to shank a kick or two but he's kicking has been spot on in the last few weeks:thumbsu:
And i can't believe no one has mentioned his smooth side-step around Pendlebury then his sizzling pass onto Lloyd's chest:D

Apart from the odd clanger, there are times where he kicks it high and to the advantage of the defender when kicking inside 50. He has a great football brain, so why does he do this? I think it's because he doesn't back himself to hit a target on the chest who is leading. His kicking is improving steadily and I'm a huge fan. Let's just hope it continues to improve but we would be kidding ourselves if we thought his kicking didn't require some work...

Averaging 29 touches a game since the Hawks game (which he missed) fantastic effort and a major reason why we are winning.

Looking at the age group of our team i think he is looked up to as a leader and weather he gets 41 touches or 10 he always puts his head over the ball. Thats the most important thing. He's kickings not all that bad. Brett Kirk is not the best kick in the league but he leads from the front and is respected not only by his team mates but the whole competition. I feel this is where Jobe is heading and could possibly be the next Bomber captain.

IMO Jobe plays his role to a T, given that he's our in & under specialist.

Whilst it mightn't be his job to spear in passes to the forward line, but when his time comes, more often than not he's more than capable.

His ability overhead is almost without par amongst midfielders, and nearly everyone on this thread is extolling the virtues of his super-quick hands.

I do remember more than one shank off the boot from a recently-retired number 5, and no-one thought any less of the old legend...(slightly
sacrilegious I know, but it proves a point)
