Buddy Stormer is ranked like 10. What are you ranked? 2000? He knows what he's doing a lot better than you.

Kangas_Div makes a good point - regardless of ranking (and being top 100 now is no indication of where you'll be at the end of the season - trades are what make and break a DTer). Stevens is worth keeping - averaging 82 after a year out, and should only improve as he gains fitness. With Judd taking the number one tagger, it'll only boost his numbers and him averaging 90+ is not unfeasible.

He knew how it worked though by playing half of last year. You don't need 22 rounds to understand how it works

I'm with Kangas Div here, you weagles are an idiot.

Kanags Div came 67th last year so he knows what he is doing so shut it weagles.

Yes Stormer is doing well but it is only round 6, and i think the expeirience of Kangas will earn him a higher ranking

Is it to early to get rif off stevo?

Thinking of trade from to K.Cornes ...

Short answer to your question ... no (assuming you are going for overall)

Reasons are as follows:

Despite Stevens still having greater growth potential, you need to consider two things. He has already accelerated in value by approximately $64,000 & K. Cornes has devalued by $50,000. That is a total of about $115,000. To dwelve into this transaction even deeper, look at the games K. Cornes has coming up. He is guaranteed to sky rocket back and possibly surpass his original price...

So in essence you are increasing your overall output in points, as Kornes will outscore Stevens easily. In the process you are effectively saving over $150,000 if you calculate all the variables illustrated above.

Gaining 20 - 30k over the next couple of weeks, will see you miss the boat on Cornes & the points along the way...

I am contemplating the very same trade... ;)

Why would you trade Steven's after round 5 when his price started so low and he could become a potential keeper for the year?

He is averaging 82.2 and his lowest score is 75.

His value started at a bargain basement price of $237,200.

Steven's is a key player for the Carlton midfield... you would be nuts to trade him this early. He was a little underdone starting the season, I can only see him improving from here.

I'd love to bet on this

I think if you're looking for an upgrade within the next few rounds, and you consider Stevens one of your eventual weakest players, then it might be worth considering.

Of course he shouldn't be anyone's worst player ATM, but most of the first year players aren't anywhere near their peak yet.

I hate to contradict what seems to be the BigFooty golden rule, but you don't have to upgrade players from the bottom up. If you have 6/7 players that you know need upgrading, and then another few who are possible upgrade options, you can upgrade those 6/7 players in whatever order is most efficient.

If Stevens fits into those 6/7 players (taking into account that upgrade options are much better in the midfield than any other area) then there's nothing wrong with upgrading him before your rookies. Maybe wait until he has peaked in about 2 weeks, but I dont think this is a totally unreasonable trade.

Would it really be needed?? No real point making a whole thread on it, will end up getting lost anyway.. just bookmark this one

Yeah sure thing. BTW how much money do you have left and how many trades have you used up?

Seems as though there is no team 9575 ranked, what's your team name?

Well said Nighthawk and 100% correct.:thumbsu:

Trades do not need to be from the bottom up, they should be used to fit the circumstances. If you have coverage to upgrade your bottom end you can upgrade others earlier if the timing fits.

As a sidenote to this thread, for those with Jones and Stevens, thoughts on who will come out with the greater average at years end?
