You said Hawthorn were inconsistent, you said we were rubbish to lose to Adelaide even though we were missing 5 of our best players.
You also said that Geelong were better than Hawthorn because they beat Adelaide without Hocking. Can i tell you something, we kicked your arse. You don't have any excuses either.
You may have been missing Burns but guess who we were missing, Shane Crawford, imagine if we had Crawf in, we would have beaten you by even more than we did. We are now in the 8 and Geelong are still going backwards.

Go Hawks

Yeah what a big win that was! LOL

Yeah we were missing Burns, but I think you forgot Lynch, Snell, Milburn and Pickering(All crumbing forwards or midfielders)

I saw geelong get hammered by Richmond last week, and for the first half yesterday, they played worse.

Crawford has really been setting the world on fire this year, hasn't he?

If you think that's a good win then you don't have much chance of going any further this season.

Having said that, Geelong have got to change their forward line to be competitive with the top sides, it's too predictable. We dominated the midfield, took it inside 50 more often and won at worst broke even in defence.

Hawks, don't get too excited, you beat half a team playing without confidence and nearly lost it as it was.

If the win over Geelong was so good without Crawford how good was the Crows win over Hawthorn with Crawford. Gee Crows must be favourites for the flag now. NOT

You have got to be kidding. missing Pickering. Pickering was an emergency and he isn't good enough to get into the seniors.
Crawford has played well the last few weeks.
17 possesions and 3 goals against the dogs and 16 possesions to half time before being injured against the roos so stop putting him down, also, who in your team is capable of winning a brownlow. Just face the facts, we beat you and you have no excuses.

Go Hawks

While gocatsco is okay, I agree with hawkfan5 on this because it was directed at G4eva.

We spanked you, didnt even need to win by two points. I really enjoyed it all the more for all the rubbish that you have gone on with and hope it hurt.

To gocatsgo, few points in a serious look at why the Hawks won,

McGrath, look the guy tries hard yet Bomber Thompsom hasnt learnt from Ayres/Blight. Mcgrath isnt a key postion player. Not big enough not strong enough. Why play him there? I have never seen him win when playing CHB or full back ever. Find someone else, Harley looks good why not give him a try?
Mensch, not good enough to be the main forward, should be second or third option, Mooney cant mark over his head, gives it up to easy when beaten for the first contest, Stoneham injuries to both his legs have made him an average footballer playing out time.
Graham, solid and a great kick, no support around him.

Of those you saidn missing yesterday well,
Pickering is gone, Lynch well he just cant stay on the field (Shame to as he can do some of those magic things. Milburn good footballer and you missed him. Snell just a utility not the worst footballer going yet dont tell me he cant be covered by others.
Im just highlighting those you mentioned as for Burns, top player could have made a difference to the result.
If thats your half a team that the Hawks beat, where does the improvment come from?

Only Burns and Millburn. I havent seen enough of Scarlett so I cant comment how much is he needed?

Until Geelong gets some real talent down the spine it will struggle, just look where we and richmond beat you. In the air and contested marks.

Finally your shot at Crawford, whats he done this year? Not as much as last but shone against Port as BOG. Good first half last week until he went of, solid in most other games. Poor against Crows and Woods.

I would still rather he was in for the Hawks than out, in all honesty, where you happy when he withdrew for the game against you or did you want him out there and maybe playing like he did against you last year?

Spot on Grendel, but i would also have to say that he did play poorly against the blues but had great games against Brisbane, Essendon, Port Adelaide and the Bulldogs.

I agree with you that Crawf hasn't set the world on fire this year, but give the guy a break, apparently he has had a minor bout of glandular fever this year. I had this in my teenage years, and it really knocks you about. Don't worry about Crawf, he's an absolute gem, he'll come good at the business end of the year.

you really are a tosser Grendel aren't you ? Did you actually see how the Umpires handed Hawthorn the game - anyway I was delighted to See little shit Daniel Chick, only a sore little ankle yet he needed two trainers to limp off like the scum that he is

For Geelong to improve, its about time they bought in some young kids who can take a mark. Cameron Mooney isn't far off, two weeks I think from playing VFL, Cameron Ling is another young forward who has been setting the world on fire in the VFL, and for what I have been told, Ezra Bray is a better footballer than Ronnie Burns, and plays in the same mould, maybe they should give them a go.

Tim McGrath has been a great centre half back for many years now, but he's getting to the stage where he's 30, and needs to get the fourth or fifth forward. Ben Graham and Tom Harley can take 1 & 2, but we need another strong defender, Daniel Foster looks a strong type but will take time to develop, Matthew Scarlet is still too light to be a key position defender. In the past McGrath has done some great jobs on Carey, Holland and co, but he's getting too old for those soughts of jobs.

Stoneham has had it, should have retired two years ago, Mensch has always been useless in my book and should have gone to Collingwood when he was given the chance. I rate Jason Mooney highly, but he needs room to move, Mensch and Stoneham have got to get out of his way. One out, Mooney's as good as they come.

Jason Snell is a surprisingly quick rover who can take an over head mark. He's very under-rated and not flashy but can kick 3 or 4 regularly, similar to Burns, only more consistent.

Geelong's midfield and defence are fine, and when the forward line is all there and working well, they can compete with anyone, just ask Melbourne and West Coast.

I hope the cats come good again and make the finals. If Hawthorn played them (in a final)it would be an absolute gift for them !

(We could even do it at Kardinia Park)
