Congratulation to a character and symbol of good hard Aussie football,came from our deadly opposition Geelong, and now the Giants , to Stevie J, a great career , fantastic footballer.

Have a huge successful retirement Stevie , you were always great to watch, and of course good to rubbish too.

Yep, remiss of us not to have started a thread already. Well done Stevie on your whole career, and thanks for your 2 years at GWS. Despite the GWS fans' frustration during your second year here, your 2016 was outstanding, and IMHO certainly accelerated our forward line and overall development. Your mentorship of our young guys was, from all accounts, fantastic. And that showed in the emotion they exhibited towards you last Saturday night. You are a champion player, congratulations on your outstanding career, and may you go on to a great career (presumably in footy coaching).

Not the greatest way to go out, and we'll try to forget it, but I'm sure you had a lasting impressing on a lot of the playing group and many have become better footballers under your tuition.

Really Stevie !!! Sydney really !!! That feels a little bit like a kick on the face. The Giants gave him a shot with coaching in mind. And also offered him a coaching gig.

Seems like a wierd choice.

I think recruiting Stevie J was on balance a success. Not the decision to play a second year though. The offer included a coaching opportunity when he finished playing. He's chosen the Swans, players actually usually coach at different clubs than the one's they played at, no big deal.
Likely if he's a successful coach he'll go back to the Cat's one day. If he isn't I think it'll be the media.

He should not have played this year. I loved him last year, but clearly she wasn't in their best 22 this year... the coaching staff should have had the courage to tell him no.
